Ventus Black 6X….similar but smoother?

I know, the TR or the Blue. Other than those shafts, are there any other shafts that yield the consistent centre contact of the Ventus, but maybe have a little smoother profile than the Black? Thanks

Kai'li white is designed to that description pretty much. You'd need to test though

It may or may not work for you but I found the Graphite Design UB 6TX to be smoother than the black 6X

Having played the Black 6X and the 1K White 6TX, UB 6X, and TR6X - I'd agree with any of those suggestions.  All great shafts with the TR staying in my bag the longest and being my current gamer.

As you can see by the comments, what constitutes "smooth" is a matter of subjective bias.  Ventus Velocore Red series profile is quite similar to Black series in the butt section, only a touch smoother due to mid and tip sections.   Check out Red 6 TX or 7 TX.  Davis Love has been playing it and hitting over 300.

Project X Hzdrus Black HDX. 6.5 is actually stiff plus (untipped) default install most drivers (including Tailormade); its softer than the Ventus shafts (normally tipped in TM drivers). As always test before you buy. In my experience the Ventus Black and Blue are much stouter than the Project X Hzdrus Black HDX.

Kai'li White, 1K White, RDX Black are all pretty comparable, smoothness is one of those 'feel' that's only applicable to you and your swing. Gotta try 'em.

Red is a "friendlier" black for a lot of swings.
Tipping is your friend. Play with your loft settings if the flight is outside desired window.

I am very happy with my results here as my mortality and injuries take their toll, moving me out of X flex for at least the foreseeable future. Blue felt relatively dead for me and black was in the wheelhouse but I needed a little more spin. With the magic Velocore pixies in there I was able to drop a weight class across the board as well and still keep it in a pretty tight circle. Awesome stuff.

It's going to depend on why you're getting that center contact and whether that is a shaft thing or not. The Black 6x is on the lighter side of the 60g weight class, so if its a total weight/weight balance sort of thing then you'll want to be mindful of that. It is also quite a stout, linear profile which you're wanting a little less of it sounds like, but if that is contributing to consistent contact then there might be a trade off. Lots of variables to consider, but my thoughts from subtle to more drastic:

1) Shorten your playing length and add weight to the head. Unless you're absolutely married to whatever your current playing length is (or its already quite short) then this can help in several ways. Shorter lengths can tend to be easier for most people to strike consistently, so that's a plus, and the extra head weight can load the tip of the shaft a little more creating a smoother overall feel.

2) Black 7X as mentioned, preferably combined with a shorter playing length. On paper the 7x is stiffer in the handle and softer in the mid/tip compared to the 6x, basically looks like a "fairway" version. It will be easier to load overall, but has a higher balance point and is on the heavier side for a 70g weight class shaft so be mindful of total weight.

3) Red 6TX. The Red is an overall smoother/friendlier version of the Black, and going up to the TX flex version might be a nice tweener that is a little easier to load than the Black 7X.

Read above what @Valtiel said its the best advice you'll get

But, the Tour AD XC is the 'smoothest' shaft you'll hit even though its not really a low/low shaft, it'll spin more than the Ventus Black which is also in itself not really a super low spinning shaft to begin with.

I appreciate the thoughts. All things I’ve considered. Going to try the red TX and see how that goes. 👍
