What socks do you prefer if you walk every round?

CelerSport Ankle socks with the heel tab personally. Can't comment on a multi-day walking trip but for walking individual rounds they have been perfect. Shoes are the more likely cause of blisters imo

I have three pairs of these. In theory, no reason or need to buy more for the rest of your life. Don’t put them in the dryer.

Honestly I'd think blisters are more of a shoe problem than a sock one. I walk nearly every round, no sock makes a major difference in my experience, but I do prefer my Kentwool socks if possible. The only thing I try to avoid are super thin socks as IMO they slide more, creating more chance for blisters.

I agree with the Kentwool recommendation!  The only socks I used for Bandon and no blisters after walking 10 rounds in 5 days!

I walk every round and really like the Bombas golf ankle socks.  No issues with blisters.  I've tried the Stance socks with the heel tab as well - they're OK but the Bombas are just better.

Kentwool on Amazon says 3 pair $60. Is that a typo. I would never pay that for socks.

Indeed. There is a significant advantage besides longevity to a high wool content sock. They don’t slide. There’s not much point in having a shoe with a high degree of stability if your foot just twists in the shoe.

Kentwool(personally I prefer the light versions of you are getting ankle socks as they are a touch less thick), darntough and feetures high cushion and merino 10 are all awesome options and don’t stink to high heck are the end of the day.

Kentwool or smartwool are what you need. To the earlier point, yes they are about $20 per pair, but you don’t need a drawer full of them either.

I almost always walk and for me, it's Puma Ankle socks with my Puma Ignite Spikeless.  

The shoes are waterproof and super comfortable but with enough structure.  The socks are also great and you can get them at Costco. 

 

There's no slippage that causes unnecessary friction. When I wear my underarmor hovr shoes, I feel some friction. So, it might be the shoe rather than the socks.

I’m an exclusive walker and I wear low cut socks with cushioning. Big thing is finding a brand/style that doesn’t ride down and exposing yourself to heel blisters. There are lots of options out there but those are the 2 keys. Lots of people are suggesting high end expensive socks and I’m sure they’re great but for me they’re not needed. More than anything I think the fit is more important. If you have a big foot and the sock isn’t big enough the ankle will ride down. Anything with cushioning that offer sizes to fit you will probably be fine.

I walk every round and wear all sorts of different midweight no-show socks (Kentwool, Smartwool, Stance, Feetures, Footjoy, UA, Nike, etc.).  Provided they all stay up (tabs are essential) they all seem to work about the same for me.  Having proper fitting shoes is the key and likely the reason you are getting blisters.  If you're playing multiple rounds in one day, I would recommend changing socks and shoes between rounds.

I suffer from plantar fat pad atrophy. I have very little padding remaining on the bottom of my feet so I naturally need socks with as much padding as possible.

I wear many different kinds of socks from smartwool to swiftwick to cheap cotton socks and they all work fine for me.  The wool and wicking socks are slightly better but not really worth the extra cost to me.   I'm very picky about shoes, though.  If they don't fit perfect out of the box then they're not for me.
