What socks do you prefer if you walk every round?

I tried a pair of the Voxx socks based on feedback in the member testing thread and was impressed enough to buy 3 more pairs. The heel tab stays up better than any other sock I have worn and I haven’t had a single heel blister with them.

Puma no shows from Costco. I wear them exclusively, unless I’m going to play basketball. 
 

They moisture wick and last a long time.

... I am a little surprised you are the only one to mention Thorlo's. I have been wearing them since I went to ECU in the early 70's. Thorlo had a Factory Seconds store in Thomasville NC and I would go there and buy 4 for the price of 1 because as a young guy I certainly didn't care about some "defects". I have never worn another athletic sock since. I use thick for walking and medium thick for riding in summer when Phoenix temps are 105-115.

If you are having trouble with blisters, I would get some Injinji liner socks and then a lightweight wool sock over them...the double layer reduces friction and the toe sock liner prevents your toes from rubbing together.

I totally agree with this statement. I always wore Adidas Tour 360s and could take them out of the box and walk 18 or 36 with no blisters.

 

And I'll also add that I too like Kentwool, Feetures, and Bombas with the latter being my sock of choice for the past two years.

I don't walk every round, not sure that matters, I walk plenty and I'll wear golf socks in the summer other than just for golf.

 

FootJoy ProDry are great by me.  I also have some Smartwool low socks that are really good and have a little more "heft" - I prefer them but they are more expensive.

I get multipacks of either adidas or UA on Amazon.  As long as they are not cotton they're usually fine.  I like them to just come to the ankle. No shows allow debris and bugs and stuff in to my socks too much on the course.

 

The other thing is I get XL even though I'm only an 11-11.5 shoe.  They fit better and last longer.  Typical size socks are just too small, tight, etc.  The ones that say "Size 6-12" are a complete joke. Unless you're a 9 maybe.

I don’t walk every round, but Swiftwick Maxus are pretty good for me. I use them all athletic stuff, around town, and golf.  About the only thing I don’t use them for is cycling.

I got some of these and they are comfy but my shoes stink after a round.  No issues with Kentwool at all so not sure the difference but sticking with Kentwool.

I didn't remember these as being moisture wicking... then I noticed that the ones the sell in the US vs Canada are different. The socks look identical, but the ones in Canada come in packs of 12 and don't have the moisture wicking.  They are comfortable though.  Mesh upper with padding under foot and stay on the foot well.  Wouldn't mind trying the US version.

I walk 90% of the rounds I play. I have quite a few different socks on rotation. Smartwool, Icebreaker, FJ ProDry, Stance Tab and recently added Bombas. Tried the Bombas for the first time this weekend. All of the brands I have are very good. I could probably just reach in the sock drawer and be good with any of the listed socks.

Balega and Cuater. I've used Balega for the past decade and have never had a blister or "bunching" issue. I've been using the Cuater Shorty Small's and Eighteeners because I won a gift certificate. After using them almost exclusively this summer, I'll buy them. They check all the boxes and are as durable as anything I've worn.

Lululemon running socks are great if you need something on the thinner side (based on how much room you have in your shoe), otherwise I really like Icebreaker socks. Merino wool is truly key.

The only thing I try to avoid are super thin socks as IMO they slide more, creating more chance for blisters.

 

Strongly am of the notion it's the shoes and not the socks when it comes to blisters. I only walk (and carry) and make sure the main material (excluding the elastic material) is natural - cotton when dry, and wool when wet/cold as it is here in Norway. I find all the synthetic materials are hopeless for comfort and moisture handling.

smartwool no shows and wrightsocks ankle in summer, winter  he wear a little more of a runners sock with some padding. 

 

if it is cold and wet he wears a wool ankle sock...
