I wonder if a guy like Bryson who is under 30 and loves golf is starting to regret his LIV decision. Yes he has more money than he will ever need, but he has nothing to play for. He has 15 rounds left in 2022, none of which matter. Career over. Instead he’s now a YouTuber.

I am sure all players that "really wanted" to play both tours (..saying some as a few did not sign on the lawsuit)  heard /discussed it with attorneys prior.  Greg just stated, which he did it openly that LIV golf  will financially support the players in all aspects from a legal matter.

 

What will be interesting it seems is it will go to the wire and I do believe that PGAT may win. Though out of it, it will "air" all the dirty laundry for the PGAT so it will be just as harmful to them as LIV.  It's like a "divorce" and we know how that plays out when this kind of money is involved.

Now reading what the Judge said, hearing some of the information that was revealed (and heretofore flat out lied about by LIV or some of its players), etc. I'm more convinced than I was last week that in the short term (obvious) but more so for the long term the denial of the TRO was more significant to how this will play out in so many ways than had it been granted.  Granted it's just status quo and we'll see.  Denied it is much more of a PR win for the Tour and LIV needed a win since it really hasn't fared all that well in terms of generating real interest.

 

Now we know it is truly nothing but an EXHIBITION series.  They have the house money promised and if they score at the table the house just owes them less, lol.  So truly phony, and I guess that explains why it's been lied about.  But what we thought we knew, it turns out we knew.  Peel back the layers and it just looks worse for LIV.  Some of what was revealed will be pretty damaging to some of their necessary antitrust positions.  

 

And the attorney making stupid mistakes about events - obviously a very capable and prominent attorney, but no excuse for factual errors when referring to Tour matters in a hearing that short and focused, but hey, he probably got paid up front so what's the incentive to prepare, lol.  Tiger was right.  Had this decision denying Norman (forget about the 3 players, he lost big today) come late on a Sunday it would be the stuff of legend.  

 

You think the PGA Tour has conditions of membership (enforceable) that are "onerous", haha, the Judge's perceptive comments and knowledge about the LIV agreements shows that the aggrieved parties willingly signed up for a lot of restrictions and conditions that make their always silly independent contractor argument look unintelligent and hypocritical.  You got the money, you knew what you were getting into, welcome to consequences.

 

This will be hashed over and over, but although just one hearing and three players, and yes, it is just one hearing and a long way to go in the litigation, this particular result is going to prove to be a big deal.

If LIV allows this to go on without giving up, discovery is going to be bad for them. Norman says he wants pro

golfers to be able to play anywhere, but Judge Freeman claimed that LIV’s contracts were very restrictive.

Can they not go back to the tour if they leave LIV or are they banned for life?

He still has at least 3 more years of majors. I don’t think Bryson wants to grind like he did on the PGA Tour. He wants to be a Youtuber and do different things.

Nearly all Liv defectors a will be out of all majors next year. They won’t have OWGR points to qualify. They would have to local qualify for the opens.

None of them are banned for life, they are suspended. If they actually banned them for life the LIV guys might have legal ground to stand on, but that isn't the case. Once they are done with the LIV circus, I am sure they can reapply for membership.  Some may need to requalify though lulz

Not 100% true, some should still get in on exemptions for being past major winners. Reed, DJ, and Phil should still have a lifetime invite at the Masters. I don't think the tour benefits much from trying to exclude a handful of past champions from majors

Tour has nothing to do with any majors. You mentioned three out of 48. I said most. Most will not have any standing in any majors next year.

this is exactly the mindset that the PGA has and it is holding them back.

 

for people 25 and under, being a “YouTuber” or influencer is a career.  And something that many kids want to aspire to be.   
 

don’t be so quick to assume anyone is upset that they are making close to 100 million and are “just a YouTuber”

 

my young son and all of his friends want to be YouTubers.   Seeing what YouTubers make, I hope he hits it big!    Then he can golf wherever and whenever he wants.

Why is his career over? He's looking at a year ban if he quits LIV, most.
