There’s probably fewer seeking out LIV than there are that accidentally “watch” it when they turn on the tv and Fox or FS1 was the last channel viewed .😏

I have no problem with LIV and I'd watch certain tournaments like Valderrama or Chapultepec if I knew when they played.  I know if I flip on CBS or NBC at 3PM on a Sat/Sun, the PGAT is gonna be on. LIV does a horrible job advertising where they're playing as well as when they're playing

Yep, exactly. No idea when they're playing week to week and no idea what channel they'll be on.

Quick - someone name me the other players on BDC's team without looking it up... besides nobody.

The Crushers new sponsor will figure that out after they see their sponsorship is nothing more than a great tax write-off.

I don't care what sponsors they pick up they (teams) will never be popular.

If I'm being honest I dont really take any of their sponsors very seriously. Chances are pretty good they are just paying money to LIV to gain favor in some other aspect of their business. Qualcom does billions in business in SA with a whole ton of future projects in the works. They certainly didnt decide to do this because they are getting any sort of ROI from it.

100% a "business" decision given how much work Qualcom is doing with SA.

Like it or not Bryson has become one of the most popular golfers on the planet.  His youtube content has helped him a ton and it does help he has played well in Majors in the last few years.  More so how he interacts with the fans at those events and seems to connect with them.

Do I think Qualcom was "forced" to do this? No. I seee on other sites and people are trying to indicate they were "required" too.  Which is odd as Qualcom has been doing business with SA way before LIV came around.   I dont think any business though would "waste" money on sponsoring a team without factoring in what they lose on it. "Cost of doing business" per se.

Will this spark more large compnany investors?  I dont think it does, at least not big ones like a Qualcom but who knows.  It does not say "how much" Qualcom is providing in sponsorship, which it could be just a few million a year which is nothing to Qualcom.   Most top players get a few million in endorsments solo.

Very very doubtful but if PIF keeps moving forward as they say they will.....deal or no deal.... one factor for sponsers is its way cheaper to sponsor those little LIV teams Vs sponsoring a PGA Tour event.   A LONG road for LIV if they stay the course but as we all know PIF has plenty of funds to ride it out if they do decide too.

Funniest thing that I read on the internet today:

"Luke Poulter, the son of LIV Golf star and Ryder Cup stalwart Ian, has set his sights on playing his way onto the PGA Tour and one day becoming world No. 1."

He’sa good young player…ya never know.

I DVR the entire LIV series just like I do the PGAT. Problem solved.

That is nice. He has the same delusion as his father. Wasn't Tiger the only one that could compete with Ian?

Funny point as Ian was sooo damn annoying in the Ryder Cup...! Have to give him prop's on that.   Patrick Reed was the same.

Granted they are not like Tiger or Scotty and hust better and would wear you down..!

Granted Tiger was not a good "team" player it seemed, but could be becuase he played completely different game then everyone else.  His record is 13-21-3 overall and in singles he was 4-2-2.

Not directly pointed at you but it’s funny how-with all of us-we can dismiss great results when it doesn’t fit our narrative but praise them when it does.

Call it an exhibition or not most care a lot about the Ryder Cup and Poulter was a beast in that format. And he did win 3 times on the PGA Tour and a dozen on the Euro tour. That’s a record most would have liked to have.

I will say he does likely have the best car collection on any tour.

I acknowledge that it's a big deal to some. For Europeans it's a religion but for me, a three round, best ball match is not a big deal. It was like the Presidents Cup before Jack lobbied to include Europe in the RC because it wasn't competitive.

Jack was once asked about the importance of the Ryder Cup, and he replied, and I'm paraphrasing... no one has ever come up to me and asked what my RC record was.

* Have fun with it, enjoy the matches.

I will certainly acknowledge Jack’s efforts and it did make the Ryder Cup something it never ever was in his day.  Namely it’s now competitive.

And it seems to be a bigger deal to the Euros than it is to the US players.

Agreed.  I’m no fan of the Ryder Cup at all.  Irrelevant waste of time IMO, and I couldn’t care less what any player’s RC record is.  It’s an exhibition played so fans can taunt each other.  The true measure and legacy of a golfer is what they do in top tier Tour events and majors.  The RC and PC is just noise.  Profitable noise for the organizers, which is the reason they do it.

Just lucky actually. Friend is on that team. Ask about any other team and I'd stumble.

Winning the Ryder Cup fuels the European tour. It helps to keep it relevant. Sure, the US wants to win, but it's not life or death.

Don't get me wrong, I love watching the DPWT. A lot of great players, but to me, the RC is just another team event. May change my mind later because I'm a flip-flopper just like Rory. 😂
