Budget golf shoes for "junior" golfer with rapidly-growing feet?

Son just turned 15. He's starting to develop the level of game and swing speed where he probably should move up from golfing in sneakers to actual golf shoes with a little traction. 

 

Kid's already almost 6' tall with size 11 shoes. Which is why I quoted "junior", as he's at least at an age where I can buy him adult shoes. But he doesn't play often enough that he can wear out a pair of golf shoes before he outgrows them. So there's little point in spending $100 on a pair of shoes he's going to grow out of in 5-6 months. 

 

So if you were looking at golf shoes, price being a major component and durability isn't a tremendous concern, but obviously not something that is utter trash (i.e. if you're walking multiple miles every round, you don't want *bad* shoes, of course)... 

 

What do you have in mind?

Vans Ultrarange, plenty of grip for golf but can also be worn off the course

Thanks. Those look like decent dual-purpose (golf and non-golf) options and for a SoCal teen, probably would be stylish too.

 

We just bought him his sneakers for the school year, so for now I'm looking more golf-specific (and a bit lower cost if they're golf-specific) but I'll keep those in mind when he grows out of his current sneakers.

Don’t be afraid to use eBay. Sometimes you can find lightly used shoes for great prices.

Good call here if he’s not a first-light player who wants a waterproof shoe. 

 

You can get good deals on Rock Bottom Golf or Budgetgolf, I’ve bought many a pair from those sites at deep discounts.

Sketchers is a very comfortable brand of shoe for me.  I've worn their stuff at work all day.

They have golf specific shoes.

I agree with ebay, they also have new shoes but older generations for cheap. I have kids I understand how quick they outgrow shoes!

I’ve found closeouts of Adidas CodeChaos, which is my favorite golf shoe, for around $74 recently. 
 

I wear a very average size 9 though. An 11 might be even cheaper if you can find it.

Check out the Nike Roshe (?).  Often can find older models online for cheap.

Also look at Ross or Burlington Coat. They often have golf shoes (nike) for reasonable prices.

Now is about the time when golf products start going on season ending sales.  I would just keep an eye out for deals.

There’s always deals to be found on closeout 1 - 2 yrs old styles of golf shoes. I’ve seen some as low as $40 on budget golf, rock bottom golf, and many other sites.
