New PXG Putter Shafts

Saw the YouTube video and announcement.  Looks like a stable stroke lab with carbon fiber.  Will be interesting if it becomes a player with Stability, LAGP etc…

Just ordered off Canada site.  $115 upgrade.  Customer support told me to send back the other PXG I ordered a few weeks ago.

I wonder if it takes off if people will start buying PXG putters to pull the shaft and flip the head?

According to the tests (I am no expert, so this is just hearsay from me) the M16 tested better than the BGT stability and LAGP.  I just wanted to just on it to test it myself. Send it back no questions asked if I don’t like it. Seem very cheap upgrade if it comes even close to the other big players on the stability shaft field.

How could a $89 shaft be better than $300,$400 shafts?????!!

 

Jokes aside, I will try it just for the namesake and cheap price compared to other. I hated stability because it was too heavy.

Anyone have a chance to game the new PXG putter shafts yet? Curious the feel

compared to the other options out. For $89 upgrade it feels worth a shot but would love some feedback if there is any.

Tried it out just now. Felt very stable, shaft felt heavier than the stock one. Miss-hits kept true to the line.

Ordered it in store in the same configuration as my One and Done. I tried hitting other heads but felt most comfortable in my trusty One and Done.

“M16 Putter Shaft for Existing Customers:
Our preference is to send back the putter to get reshafted by our team. 

Reshaft by PXG:
1. $100 for the shaft
2. $10 for a Lamkin Grip
3. $25 for a Superstroke Grip
4. No Labor fee customer pays shipping

Shaft Only: We will sell and ship the M16 shaft only.
1. $100 for the shaft
2. $10 for a Lamkin Grip (If requested)
3. $25 for a Superstroke Grip (If requested)”

Anyone know the actual specs as far as weight,  hosel size, and what the raw length is?  Looking to test in a non PXG putter.

Don't know specifics, but fair to assume .370 tip size as that fits their putters, and probably 38" raw length as most putter shafts seem to be.

Thanks.  I figured that was the case, but didn’t want to assume tip size and length but so far it is perfect for my reverse arm lock testing.

Any comparison between this and Odyssey's special putter shaft? Visually and conceptually they are kinda similar IMO

I ordered one today for $110.  When ordering I was told I had to order the shaft ($100) with a grip ($10). Asked for the grip to not be installed as I don’t plan on using the grip. Im installing the shaft myself in a non PXG putter with a Garsen grip.  Was so cheap I just had to try it.

they sell just the shafts now?

 

mgs said pxg only planned to sell it with their putter. I paid $79 upgrade fee

Yep, I called PXG today and just ordered the shaft, but was told I needed to order a grip as well.  I don’t know if it matters or not but I didn’t share with them my intent to use it in a non PXG putter.

 Received my putter yesterday and went right to the course. Not having owned a stability shaft before I don’t have a baseline.  
Where I could feel a difference was very long putts. 40+ feet where I really had to swing. There was no give, putter head was where it should be. And the end result was within 5 feet, missing on speed not line. 
I did notice the shaft seemed to mute any tininess, leaving a solid click.

The concept is to reduce face rotation. That's basically a feature only if you need it. Some people need face rotation...

 

Counter weighting the grip reduces face rotation. 

 

So it's a way to reduce face rotation without adding grip weight. Whether that improves results for you or not depends on your stroke.

It’s not to affect the toe hang. The idea is to reduce shaft oscillation reducing dispersion. Even though we don’t normally consider it, putter shafts flex. Almost to a detriment at times.The balance point (fulcrum) of the putter would be impacted as the material is lighter than steel. A heavier grip could be used to offset this or head lightened.

I bought a Bat Attack with the new shaft.  I am going to need to send it back….the “ting” noise and feel I just can’t get get used to. It’s like a tuning fork.

Got one of these coming in on Friday. Was able to order just the shaft by itself for $107 shipped. Gonna put it on a ping anser 2 pld with a pp58. Really excited to try it out.

I am being fit for the Battle Ready Bat Attack next week with the PXG rep, who happens to be a friend. I want to try the M16 shaft with a plumbers neck. I've had Bettinardi, Cameron, Evnroll, but I think I need more toe hang. If I like it I'll buy it. Just saw a review and from 5-10-20 feet it was rated #1, We'll see.
