Scotty Cameron Monoblock?

I've been shocked lately at the number of TEI3 putters weighing 330 grams originally being refinished by Instagram "professionals" and the price they are now selling a close to 300 gram refinished putter for. Hope you love a half inch of lead tape. You can even look on the BST here and see putters beat to HE1! made new in the last 6 years listed for more than the original Cameron price for a mass produced off the rack model. The market is ridiculous right now. I guess I need to dump more Tour Camerons on the BST and cash in now!

I understand I am in the vast minority here; however, this is the first limited Scotty Cameron that I really, really want.  I am hoping others with experience could recommend the best way to improve my chances at a MonoBlok 6.5 35." 

 

I have two golf galaxys within 30 minutes of me. One of which is a large, newer store.  I reached out to the newer location regarding this. The manager said he would only be able to confirm that they will have the 6.5 model but couldn't disclose quantities.  He explained that there is no preordering and they would be sold first come, first served.  Finally, he suggested that people lined up for the Jet Black release as early as 3.5 hours before the store opened (6:30 a.m.).

 

Is this the best way to try and improve my chances at a 6.5 35"?

If they confirmed that they are Infact getting 6.5 model, and it's first come first serve, and that's what you want, better get there 4+ hours early. That probably is your best bet

There's already many on eBay so obviously some have been pre-sold or promised to certain people. One eBay seller even has the putter in hand!! It's looking tough... My nearest Titleist Pro shop are only getting 1/3 of the stock compared with the jetset release.

Wow... Definitely not the news I was looking for. The store opens at 10:00a.m. and the employee I spoke with said 6:30 was the earliest he had ever heard of someone getting there and 7:00 would be a safe bet.   Guess I'll need to adjust my plan.

They painted newport black as jetsetter and people went nuts. Partly, I presume because of Cam Smiths black putter post Open around the time of released.

This one lacks the black paint and the old the golos were awesome so why bother, and have a better name.

My refinished Scotty came out around ~325g, but nothing that a 14g tip weight didnt fix.

Thanks to everyone on here I arrived at my local golf galaxy at 6:04 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. opening and was the first person in line.   I had called ahead to verify that the model/length I wanted would be available.  While they were able to confirm that they had it, they were not able to give specifics on quantity.  When 10:00 a.m. came around there was only 2 putters in the store. Being that I was the first in line, I got my pick. This was a huge break since I was able to get the only one of the exact model & length I wanted. Surprisingly, even the store employees said that this was a very small line in comparison to recent releases. However, it seems that this was a very small release being that the store only had one of each. 

 

I know this was not an interesting release for many people.  I found myself on the other side of the fence.  I have been using a Scotty Cameron for nearly my entire time as a golfer.  This was the first limited release I've ever wanted, much less considered attempting to buy.  I'm pretty stoked.

Short story... Back in 2016 I had my first putter fitting ever on a SAM PuttLab at a Club Champion in Chicago where I was visiting.  The fitters recommendation was to use any 30* toe hang mid mallet.  Unfortunately, that isn't exactly the widest aray of options. I ended up playing a Golo 5 up until this spring when I went back to Club Champion.  Sam PuttLab once again recommended a 30* toe hang mid mallet. However, the fitter thought I would do better with a little more toe hang since my miss is usually right. This put me into the Flowback 5.5 since the 5.5 is basically a twist on the Golo with a slank neck.

 

All this leads me to why I wanted the MonoBlok 6.5.  To me, it sounded like the traditional Golo head I loved with the slant/jet neck to achieve more toe hang.  In fact, I called Club Champion and asked my fitter if he had time to bend my new MonoBlok 6.5 to match my Flowback 5.5.  I ended up going straight to Club Champion after picking it up.

Regarding the Jet set, if not thinking about limited release or colour, the only putter in the Jet Set range worth looking into is the Newport 2+

When you asked that question it made me realize I never looked. I actually had to go and pick up my putter to double check.  I can also confirm it is black with gray lettering.

Walked into Golf Galaxy a few weeks back and they just happened to have one sitting there….so, picked it up, knowing that if I hated it, id get my money back at the very least.

Took it out that next day, after about 10-15 minutes on the putting green and ended up with 4 birdies that day, and none of them being gimme putts.

So, Its safe to say its staying in the bag. 

I may consider changing the grip. I think I get a little too handsy with the small grip. But it just feels so good.

Did you get the 6 or 6.5? With the new 6 and 6.5 Fool’s I’m trying to decide between the two. Monoblok was medium toe hang for 6.5 but Golo says near-max. I’m a bit torn.
