Augusta National Women's Am

Hey all,

 

I am in Denver and hoping to take my 12 year old daughter to the Augusta National day of the ANWA in 2023. I have never been to the area and could use some advice. Decent places to stay and play nearby? We don't necessarily need to play anything top notch but I am open to suggestions or more budget friendly options. I am guessing things get busy around ANWA and obviously the masters the following week so I am hoping to get something booked early.

 

Any advice on getting ANWA tickets? I know they were on stubhub and other resale markets last year but I don't see them on those outlets yet.

Be prepared to spend some money. Everything even remotely close to Augusta will be 4-5X the normal price during that time.

 

Also, this should be common sense but it needs to be said anyway... The cheap hotels are cheap for a reason...

I always stay up around Anderson SC. Easy 1 hr drive to Augusta and plenty of good stay/play options that aren't overly inflated on price.

I grew up in Augusta and agree with what Abh159 said. Prices get ridiculously high during those two weeks, but you may be able to beat the inflation by finding a good AirBNB or something outside of the city. Appling and Grovetown are probably a 25-45 minute drive from the front gates but will be a lot cheaper than trying to stay in Augusta itself.

 

In terms of badges for sale, I'm not so sure. A lot of Augusta residents (my parents included) received badges when the ANWA started and like to beat the regular Masters crowd to the gift shop by going in on that Saturday. I would suggest perusing Facebook as the time gets closer to see if local residents are trying to sell their badges.

 

Best of luck on going! I took my wife last year and I honestly feel like this is the best day to go to the Augusta National. You don't get to see the PGA stars, but you can really enjoy the beauty of the course without fighting a ton of people.

Hijacking thread a bit...Looking for some advice if anyone has been to the Drive Chip and Putt finals...

 

Taking my kiddo to the ANWA event (already have tickets and booked!) but considering spending an extra day and trying to grab tickets to the DCP finals on Sunday. Has anyone been to the DCP finals? or know friends kids who maybe have?

 

Not sure if its worth it...are all the facilities open? Can you even walk the course? or just hang by the practice areas? I've been to Augusta before - first time for my daughter -but I figure if we are already there, might be worth hanging out an extra day...

DCP has access to driving range, Main merch store, main Concessions, 1/10 tee and 9/18 green. It's all about the kids but you will see a couple guys tee up a practice round in the afternoon. It is cool for kids to see but not full access to the course.
