Lido Update?

Has anyone been able to get a good idea when it's going to open at Sand Valley.  Best I can get out of them is June but no exact date.  Anybody been able to get out there for a preview round? I have a group going June 1st but the way the lady on the phone made it sound tee times even for resort guests are going to be hard to get.

Haven't heard when it was going to open other than some people getting some preview looks at end of this season.   My guess is they are going to cater almost exclusively to the membership initially and maybe if there are openings and some guests that are there for multiple days, maybe they would luck into a tee time.  If I was paying $50,000 to play there I would want my name on the tee sheet, but assuming most of the membership is not local, there would probably be spots open.  Certainly an interesting model to open a course.  I'd love to play someday but if it ever happens it will likely be years down the road when a lot of the hype has faded away.   Maybe someday it will just become one of the rotation up there.

I saw a post on Instagram from someone who played all 18 there (I think sometime this week). I believe it had been only 9 holes of preview play up until now. It was 9 holes from the middle of the course starting halfway through the front 9. Everything I have heard has been people raving about how amazing it is. Saying how it's like going back in time and even though it's brand new it feels like its been there forever. I know it has been hard to get on for the preview play and sounds mostly like it has been where you need to be with a member. It will be interesting to see how feasible it is to get on once the course is actually open.

According to an email I received today - The Lido will be open for play to resort guests June 28 Monday through Thursday only.  I called and booked my tee times (already had existing reservations for August 2023) and they stated they are allowing one tee time per stay.  Sounds like it is booking fast...

Wow, that is sweet.  Cannot wait to hear feedback on the course from the regular folk!

Snagged a slot on June 29th, second day of being open.  Was already planned to be at SV 28th-30th, so of course completely rearranged my tee times to fit it in.  Will update here once I play it.

Wow, really jealous.   I would love to get up there and play it but will likely be a while.  Can't wait to hear all about it.

Same going rate as all other Sand Valley courses, so for peak summer $275 or $137.50 on a replay rate.  Caddies are mandatory on Lido though unlike other SV courses.

 

It is only open to resort guests Monday-Thursday, no Friday-Sunday times, private club at for weekends.

Super pumped, never been up to SV at all, have 2 rounds at Mammoth and SV each, Sandbox at Lido all booked, going to be exhausted but I am really excited

I played Mammoth and SV in one day spring 2021.   You will love it all.

This is partially incorrect. You can book LIDO rounds on Sundays as I just did it.  Fridays and Saturdays are member only tee times. No minimum stay or minimum round requirements.

Interesting, I called the day the email the went out opening times and this was the direction I received, definitely could have changed since though with demand to opening Sunday's as well.  Good to know!

Is there a separate golf shop and parking lot for The Lido? If so, are you able to park and shop or get out and just get a look at the course from there? Do they have Lido merch at the main golf shop? I just want to get a glimpse of it in person when I play Mammoth tomorrow.

There is a Lido specific golf shop. It is the only place you can get lido merch.

1. Where can I purchase Lido merchandise?

If you have a tee time at the Lido you will have an opportunity to shop in the Lido pro shop before or after your tee time.

 

 2. If I do not have a tee time at the Lido can I still purchase Lido gear?

If you do not have a tee time at the Lido you will not be able to go to the Lido pro shop to purchase gear.  However, we will have a small selection of gear at the main pro shop for purchase with the Lido logo (starting in June).

I just got back from SV - I did not see any Lido merch in the main SV pro shop. It also just wasn't possible for us to get a tee time over there even with some private club connections in our group, but here in a few weeks it will be open to limited SV guest play.

Head to SV later this summer, but only have tee times for SV and MD. Won't be able to play it this go-round, but curious what others think of it who do end up getting to play.

$137.50 is the replay rate right? $275 for a single round. Unless it is cheaper this year for some reason. I know next year it is the same price as MD and SV.

I don't think so?

Unless they count our earlier round at a different course.
