For anyone waiting on a refund, I've had luck calling in and speaking to a rep.  It seems that the returns get processed by the warehouse, but then require another level of employee to authorize the refund.  Both times I've called in the rep has been able to see that the item was received by CPO and pushed the refund through.

I thought it was just a Like New Black Memphis turns out its a the tour chocolate garage. No pictures and such with the tour clubs typically but this certainly is not going back to CPO 🙂

CPO has soooo many garage putters in stock and some of them are definitely tour issue, like the H3 neck Las Vegas I got.

 

The problem is even if you try and sort through them with a rep, the details listed as you just noted are many times wrong. Sometimes in a good way and sometimes bad. I bet theres a bunch of tour issue finishes and necks and etc in inventory but theyre mis-marked and no one knows yet.

 

I definitely dont want to be ordering on a whim right now like I usually do because returns are taking so long. Once RMA's go back down to like 7 days I might order a bunch of garage putters and see what I get.

Whim shmim: you have a direct line to Cole right, so you must have an in for express returns 😄

 

I am curious how these garage ones come in as I thought they were custom orders in the first place. I get the occasional custom color driver being traded in, but these putters that have basically no use as a custom build makes me wonder if the ole Toulon garage is just pumping them out from time to time? 🙂

Last trade in I did took around 7 weeks (arrived 11/23) but did end up getting credited. Patience and trust was tested but call in and ask if you're ever unsure and yes they are really backed up when the year end comes close

My trade in was received on 12/2. Just got processed this week on Monday.

IMO that's crazy for a business that works on trades and used equipment.  I understand they are busy, perhaps hiring more people and having a lower profit margin would help? 

 

When time is measured in multiple weeks and at times months it's too long.

What sort of condition are “Average” drivers and iron sets typically (I realize this probably varies from club to club)? Worried about iron sets having brown wear marks on the faces and drivers having dummy marks.

 

Also, how often do they typically run extra sales off Other Brands?

I don't keep full track, but other brand sales are typically once every couple of months.  Similar with clearance.  Both are typically 20% off when they do it.

 

I have not bought average irons, but in most cases the average woods that I have bought were not in great shape.  Perfectly playable, but cosmetically not great.  It would not be uncommon to get one with sky marks, or small paint chips in the finish.  

 

If you care about the cosmetics, I wouldn't go below very good.  You could probably get a decent club at the "good" level, but it is still hit or miss if you want something without any real blemishes.  Although CPO would probably take it back, it is harder to justify returning based on condition if you buy "average."

CPO has two Honma TR21X irons sitting in clearance as single irons - a 5 and a 6 iron - for like $50 each and you can call a rep and get last weeks 20% off clearance price on them.

 

That's a STEAL for a single honma iron and these would make a really cool combo set if someone owns a TR21V or P iron set and needs the larger ones at the bottom of the set.

I’ve sent in a couple of clubs recently, one a return and the other a trade in. When I spoke with a rep I was told they have a huge backlog of boxes on their dock related to Christmas returns etc.

 

It doesn’t bother me to wait. I think it was almost 4 weeks to get credit for my return. I figure it’s a small hassle in exchange for being able to test the club for a couple weeks. 
 

For my trade in deal they are giving me credit against another purchase I made recently. I received my new putter on a Thursday and they let me trade in my old hybrid the next day. Fair price too.

Super random but I found an Apex Pro Double Dot single iron sitting in clearance for like $60.

 

I bought it and will try and get Xander to sign it (since that iron was his idea IIRC) at the API and keep it in my memorabilia cabinet. Would be a cool piece on the shelf to have.

This is a very rare driver. A Mavrik Max 'single diamond' model. One of Callaway's experiments from the tour only mavrik line which had like 13 tour issue head models. If it wasnt a 8.5* model I would buy it. It is 450cc and neutral biased with a sharper crown - but still a 'max' model.

Those have not showed up yet; theyre on my list of things to check for. They have not gotten TD T Epic-line woods yet so it may be a while unless they get some random tour truck clubs (they have in the past).

Was able to get a “Very Good” Rogue ST Pro Hybrid for $102 before shipping/taxes. I really like my Stealth hybrid but the deal was too good to pass up to give this one a try. If this can completely take out the hook miss for me and still maintain a simile flight and feel to the Stealth then it’s a steal for me.
