Honest question here... Is Venmo ok now because they offer purchase protection?  Or still best to stick with Paypal?

Advertising any payment method that provides buyer protection is fine. However, you'll need to state Venmo Goods & Services since it's relatively new.

Buyer offered his phone number for communication and when I said paypal for payment he said he does not have paypal. New something was a bit fishy from his responses

Please buyer beware …… years ago I was scammed over an online paintball gun sale.  Still pisses me of after 11 years !

If we agree on a trade but I had the original listing posted in the for sale forum and he offered me a trade, should we be expected to ship the same day or should I be waiting till I receive the clubs before I ship myself?

I would say, you wait until the item you were presented arrives to ensure that it meets your expectations before closing the trade. Especially since you posted a FS thread and not a WTT.

No breaches have been detected but we are looking/monitoring since the beginning.  If you have a darkweb scan service, I would check it/use googles.

 

Password resets were sent to members who have not logged in for the last 90 days.  Its unclear how those with remember me are triggered.  We have responsed both ways.

 

Paypal goods and services and other guaranteed payments should be the only way to pay.

all well and good, however it seems to me the buyer insisting on the payment protection should be prepared to pay the extra for the fees involved in being "safe".

 

since we're supposed to be involved in, passionate about, following, etc. a sport that prides itself on integrity, wouldn't it be nice if that could be applied to the classifieds section?
