Rebuilding my stealth driver after this happened to the adaptor. Shaft was twisted 90 degrees right as its pured so the sticker didn’t line up anymore. Shaft pulled out fine from the adaptor. Seems like the adaptor calcified but odd since I don’t like submerged the head under water. I always make sure to wipe the head after I swing and before it goes into the head cover. Anyone else ever experience this. Seems like the adaptor twisted inside the head. The adaptor was still in standard setting too so very odd.  TM stem cleaned out and new adaptor used and epoxy back together.

This is an example of fretting corrosion.  Aluminum is a soft metal but aluminum oxide is hard enough to be used to make sandpaper.  A small repeated movement can cause a lot of wear.

I just bought a 18 deg . players hybrid from Monark Golf. I'll put a lightweight steel shaft in it 1/2" over standard. The face is adjustable I just hope I can keep it down and not hook it, like my 4i and 3w. It's to fill the 50 yard gap between the two.

I use the "Shirtsleeve" swing technique me and a friend developed over the course of 3 years while trying many techniques seen here on GolfWrx as well as other classic instruction (Jones, Hagen, Hogan, etc.).

Sure. I'm pretty certain it's Mondeo Golfs new name. I have bought a fairway wood before it seems a little better quality than other component clubs.

The SMT name isn't new. They were big on the long drive circuit in the early 2000s. They're no longer the same company as back then and the brand is currently run by the same guy as Hurricane, Diamond Tour, and Sub70. No clue what happened to Mondeo.

Pulled the KBS Tour shafts from a set of Ping S55 & reshafted TGI 60 shafts into them. Had to get collared ferrules 4 these heads

Then pulled the shafts from an old set of Ping Eye irons. Mongrel to pull out...

Reshaft the KBS Tours into them.

Fun job 4 my former pro teacher. He was amazed by how good the TGI are...mind you his only reference were Ping graphites, pretty low bar  😅

I’ll be playing them in sledgehammer mode, they should come out starting around D5 and progressively going up to around D8.5 in the wedges. If it’s too aggressive, I have enough tip weights in each that I could remove to get them down to D2 Thru D5.5 which is more historically what I’ve run

edit just forgot, since I used graphite extensions, I should get a light counterbalance, so SW may read lower than what I was stating above.

Trying to figure out the long iron part of my bag. I had a great range session with my five iron so I had a matching four iron built, and reshafted a hybrid to compare. I also have a Cleveland 588 hybrid 18* at my builder getting reshafted with a Fujikura Speeder 904hb stiff that I got off the bay for cheap. Always wanted to try this shaft.

How did this feel to putt with?

I like it! This was a winter build and I haven't had time with it on the course. Testing so far has been indoor only. I was worried that feedback would be overly muted with graphite and a WH insert, but feel off the face is really nice. I always liked the concept of a stroke lab shaft, counterbalance without the added weight, just didn't like the red multimaterial shaft that came with it. In concept the stroke lab shaft increases the MOI of the shaft and the Tri Hot 5k head itself is high MOI for a blade. The whole putter feels very stable. Biggest thing for me will be looking to see if there are gains in distance control. All I know for sure right now is that it feels great and looks cool.

My last couple of builds:

-Nice Forged CCi irons.  Been playing them this week, and love them.  These are a bit "smaller" than other forged irons I've built, i.e. smaller sole, less pronounced cavity etc.  So I was a bit skeptical how they would perform on off-center hits. They seem to actually like being hit a groove or two low, with minimal drop-off.  They don't like to be hit several grooves high, as distance just drops off a full club length.

-Mizuno Fli-Hi 21*.  Love this thing.  I did an odd build, as I used a 50g ladies flex Adams Ultralight shaft in it.  I have a very average swing-speed, and have been enjoying the benefits of using lighter and softer flex shafts to help me get elevation on less-forgiving clubs with higher CoG.  It plays a bit more like a 22* or 23* in terms of distance, as I get higher launch and a bit more spin.  So it fits nicely between my 20* Adams Pro hybrid and a typical 26* 5i from any of my sets of forged irons.  Also, this is the one club I can turn-over more than anything I've ever hit.  So if I need to, I can hit a big line-drive draw that runs out.

-MacGregor VFoil M5K putter.  I've always wanted to try a center shafted putter, and this head looked great.  Very a**-end heavy, and my Arccos data has suggested better putting stats (especially on longer putts) after using it for a few weeks.

Future Builds:

-Bridgestone Beam forged irons.  Can't find out much about them, but love the looks.  Love thr darker finish too.

-Ben Hogan Apex Plus.  I didn't have any Hogans in the collection, so why not.

-PRGR Data 801.  I knew nothing of PRGR a couple months ago, so it has been fun researching JDM stuff.  These look fairly forgiving, with a rather large cavity.
