Yardages, are these right for my speeds

Highest driver ballspeed is 189 mph back in August. Clubhead speed is definelty faster now, but colder conditions decrease ballspeed, though am still in the 180's. I wonder on true clubhead speed. I feel currently am around 125 - 130 mph, indoor I simply cannot swing fast. Its always uncomfortable warm, and I feel restricted and subconsciously think about hitting something, fastest indoor with driver is 116 mph, but this is around 75-80 % and not my long drive swing. 7 iron clubhead speed is between 100 - 105 mph, fastest ballspeed is around 145 - 150 mph. Anyway, heres typical yardages at swinging fast speed.

Yardages with average ballspeed with mizuno yellow range balls

Driver - 310-330 ( 182 mph)

3 wood - 285 (172 mph)

5 wood -  260 (160 mph)

4 iron - 240 (reg flex shaft, not enough practice 150 ballspeed, fastest is 167 mph)

5 iron - 230/240 (150 mph)

6 iron - 215 (145 mph

7 iron - 200 (140 mph)

8 iron - 190 (134 mph)

9 iron  - 180 (126 mph)

PW - 165 ( 122 mph)

50 degree - 145/150 (116 mph)

Iron length is probably a bit short at that speed, but honestly a 200 yard 7 iron probably doesn’t create a ton of value for you…

at your swing speed, focus should be getting ball in play and then hitting a 3/4 iron shot into the green… unless you are playing insanely long courses, you’ll have a short iron into most greens.

it’s a weird problem with hitting the ball far… you are probably pretty good from 200 yards Vs your handicap because you hit a 7 iron… but you don’t ever get to hit the 7 iron…

one of the big upgrades I’ve made to my game is adding a 3/4 wedge shot and using it with my 8 and 9 iron…

I’m nowhere near your speed, but a soft 8 iron from 150 has been great for me.

Yeah hitting a 7 iron 200 doesn't do much for me in golf terms, right now I'm not focusing too much on scoring, when I've been playing frequently and practicing for 9 holes I am usually in the low to mid 40's. I could certainly practice more and try to score better but as of right now I am more focused on getting into long drive. Most clubs feel awkward in my hands and I tend to hold clubs very upright, I wonder if this increases spin rate. I hit everything ridiculously high and with high spin so my 200 yard 7 iron rolls maybe a yard or 2 typically. I would guess my handicap is around 10 - 12, which is funny because average distance for that handicap is very short around 250 yards. Swinging fast creates inconsistency but around the greens I dont have trouble, even though I never practice chipping or putting they've always come easy to me. Its from 50 - 120 yards that I struggle. Wedges are very inconsistent, I rarely ever hit my 56 or 60 as intended, usually they're a weak high spin toe shot. When it starts warming up here, and I get out on the course I may just knock down 50 degree instead of higher lofted wedges. I tend to drop my head alot in my swing causing high launch angle and spin, and releasing early.

Probably a little long based on driver speed I'm guessing. I have been over 200 mph ball speed several times but I tend to hit my irons more at a normal-ish speed. Yes I can hit my irons at those distances or longer but it becomes unplayable, especially with wedges. I don't take full swings with wedges at all. There is never a situation where I "need" to hit my 56* 130 yards. I will just hit my gap wedge 3/4. We probably play at a similar handicap too based on what you stated.

Ive only ever been to a toptracer range, and just figured out ball normalization is about 10 mph less than real balls, so those 189 mph balls would be around 195 - 198 mph. 3 wood Ive gotten up to 180 ballspeed with range balls, but as for the irons those are more swinging hard iron yardages. Back when I full swung on the course I remember hitting an 8 iron about 190 yards extremely high and flew a 175 yard green. No point having no control so an on course 8 iron with a comfortable swing is about 175 yds. I play good from 130 yards out, but inside of that I struggle hitting wedges. I would guess my handicap is about a 10-12, lowest round I've shot is a 79. I'm more focusing on long drive this season since it's something I've always liked and been good about, especially for my size I'm 6-1, and about 155 lbs

Yeah long drive is definitely different from playing golf. I did my first and only event almost 2 years ago. Went and qualified into the amateur national championship and made it to last cut. Got invited to amateur worlds in Chicago but couldn't make it. It was a fun experience but you really need to keep your body in shape for that type of stuff. I keep my 4* Krank in my golf bag though. I hit is as good as any other driver I ever hit anyway. Plus I got what is basically a 2 wood and a 1 iron I can use off the tee.

I am looking to compete this July at the annual connecticut event, and I think the local and regional qualifying site for the world championships is at the same place later on in the year. I would love to talk more to you about competing and how to make it further in the events, most of the speed ive gained so far is from technique improvement and finding fast not gym work. The main reason I am interested so much is because I see the big size gap between the guys competing around my age (18) and I like to think I'm pretty fast despite not being built like a tank. It may not pan out, but I feel like I at least need to try. I too have a krank driver at 4 degrees with a 2x shaft, which feels incredibly heavy because of the stiffness. I am debating whether to buy something a little softer to at least get more out of it. Other driver is a Ping G425 @7.5 degrees with an X-stiff 65g shaft, which I've gotten up to 189 mph ballspeed (range ball) normalized to around 197 mph.

Is the driver distance carry distance and what elevation? I’ve carried 308 with 165 ball speed, just hit about 2000 rpm’s and hit up on the ball 10-12 degrees, I’m at 1460 elevation though

You gotta hit the gym at your age and weight.  It would do you good to put on 10-20 pounds of muscle.  Focus on strength and speed training.  Power lifting style with plyometrics and Olympic lifts.  You need 220+ ball speed if you really wanna make it far in long drive.  If it's just for fun, then that's all good too.  I gotta guy right now that I'm training for long drive and if you need any advice, just PM me.
