Do you remember what you shot on you very first hole of your first round of golf?

I do not remember my score, but I do remember my first swing and hole. My Great-Uncle gifted me an old set of women's Patty Berg clubs. Along with my Great-Aunt and him, we went to the first tee without warming up. Therefore, my first swing on the tee box was my first swing at a course. I suwng mightily at the ball...missing it completely...spinning around and falling on my butt.  That was 42 years ago and I have been playing ever since.

No freakin clue about any scores but I can say with 99% certainty my first round with dad would have been sometime in 1987 at the now defunct Pine Burr Golf Course outside of Lillington, NC.

... I didn't think golf was a sport after playing football through college but basketball and baseball in high school. Those I saw on TV were fat guys in ugly polyester smoking cigs while they played. High school golf team played in long white cuffed pants, long sleeve white button down shirt and a black tie. LOL no thanks. 

... I was invited to play in a Bears Charity Outing in my early 30's. I was a DJ back then and our station was promoting the event and I was challenged to play by the Bears PR guy. What the heck it was for charity so why not? Borrowed a persimmon driver, some MB's and balata balls and to answer the question I made par on the first hole. Par'ed the 2nd too and thought "Yup, easy game, just like I thought". Then sliced a ball far into the woods that I didn't find on the 4rd hole. Hmmmm. Compensated by rolling my wrists a little on the 4th and hooked it OB. WTF?!? I don't remember much of the rest of the round other than learning golf wasn't easy at all. I was smitten and attacked the game with a vengeance ever since.

I do remember the first tournament hole I played though.

 

I was actual paired up with Carey Price as a teenager amazingly enough (Lives in my area of Canada) and I got a 13 on the easiest par five in the world on my home course lol. Dorked it down the fairway about 10 times due to nerves and 3 putted.

 

I believe I clutched up on the back nine to shoot 98 in my first ever tournament as 13-14 year old. I was hooked on tournament golf from that day on though and got much better in a hurry haha.

It was a bogey on a par 5.
 

The one thing I distinctly remember about my first round was standing on the 13th tee and wondering how there could possibly be 6 more holes to play. I’d hit the ball 600 times by then and I was exhausted. 
 

Loved it, though. Within a couple of months, I was mocking people for not playing 36 with me.

25-30 yard par 3 at a pitch and putt.  Stuck my pitch to 2 feet and made the putt for bird.

 

Then proceeded to shoot anywhere from 4-10 each on the remaining holes but I really nailed that first one.

Remember it like it was yesterday. 340 yd par 4, tree lined on the right, no rough and  O. B. fence on the left. Slap-sliced a persimmon driver into the tree line 240 yds out. Hooded a 7 iron to about 5 feet and 2 putted, easy par. Shot a 98 and took me about two years and 100 rds to break 100 again. 😎 lol

I was about 9 years old, so no. I do remember as kids playing with my dad and my cousin shanked a ball and it hit my dad's leg. We both watched the ball in horror and forgot to yell fore. My dad wasn't very happy.

Started playing around 1990 so don’t remember the first hole I’ve played but do remember my first hole I played after a 10 year break when I moved out of the US after university. Had played fanatically until then but realised playing in Europe was just not financially feasible at the time I moved. 

 

Fast forward to 2012 and my dad persuaded me to join him (he introduced me to the game way back when) so took a loaner set and hit my first golf ball in 10 years on the range. As expected - not good so went with zero expectations to the first tee. 4 iron off the tee - right down the middle. 7 iron to the green - hit the middle of the green and 2 putt for par. Remember this vividly as it got me back into the game again 😀. 

 

FWIW - the 2nd hole was a short par 3 and I scored an 8 on that and that was the general pattern from there for that round. 😂😂😂.

I think was an 8.  After my first 9 holes at age 13, and everything going right, I decided I wasn't going back until I could hit the ball left. 30 years later I'm still a hooker

Don't remember the first hole, but I do remember I made about a 4-6 footer on the 9th (final hole of the day for my first par ever.

I took up golf in 1990, and my first score was a pure luck birdie at the first hole at Bay Path Golf Club in East Brookfield, MA, which no longer exists. It was a 315 yard par 4, straight as an arrow. I remember hitting a driver about 175, then a 5-iron short of the green, then a lucky chip with a 6-iron right into the hole! The rest of the round was a disaster. I played army golf (left, right, left) the rest of the round, and scored an impressive 72 - for 9 holes! Fortunately I'm a lot better than that now!

Ummm let’s see 2-3 oncoming car hits.  2-4 pissed off random pairings.  Think I was penalized for no golf bag.  Think I was told “the goal is go towards the green”.  Innocent trees were hit.  Lost sooo many golf balls.  Had been avoiding the course for this very reason.  A lot of beer was drunken around me.

Blackberry farm in Cupertino with my dad.  It was probably 1966 and I was 11 years old.  I had practiced with plastic golf balls in the backyard for a month or two.  I seem to remember getting a 6 on the par three first hole but it was probably more than that.  I do remember being on the first tee and I remember chipping up towards the hole where I got my first golf lesson from my dad; "Hurry up the waiting behind you!".

 

I had an old bag with my dad's old clubs and I remember that the leather strap was not very comfortable on my shoulder...
