Im in the same boat, Original LTD user here and still love it. great sound and feel, having a hard time moving on but i cracked the spaceport in the bottom, grabbed a G400 lst in hopes of similar performance, that is a good deal on the PXG though

Be interested to hear what you think of that LST. I know it sounds a little like a trash can but I can get over that lol

@ChristopherMcDonald
a G400 was widely-considered to have a nice sound i.e. "tickled/ stimulated the amygdala".

By "sounds a little like a trash can"... Are you perhaps thinking of the G425?

Must be. My playing partners G series drivers always sound less appealing but that may be something to do with the archer in that situation… I’ll have to give one a swing

Decided to take a chance on a driver I fit into before, albeit the slightly less forgiving version, however my game has been on the rise so Excited to get this into play

Original Ltd user here - still have it in the bag but got a Speedzone to try over the winter and first few sessions in the simulator with the same shaft show a marked improvement in terms of ball speed and distance. The Speedzone performed better than a Radspeed for me, and I'll probably try the current Ltdx in the spring once I've done what I hope is some winter training/lessons.

It's noticeably more forgiving. I was skeptical of the switch since I liked the LTD Pro so much, but when I miss (heel side) it's still manageable. Missing with the Old LTD Pro would punish me.

Also not having to deal with the Spaceport is a bonus.

I was a Fly Z player and went to the RadSpeed

I bought the driver at 44.5. My Fly Z had most of the marks on the inside and high, so I went to a shorter length.

I find the driver more forgiving as in my misses are not as bad as the Fly Z.

I have not lost any distance and may have gained some even though the driver is shorter by a half inch.

Sound of the RadSpeed is good too.

Went with the RadSpeed because the difference between the RadSpeed and the LTDx wasn't big enough to justify the price difference.

Differences being distance, forgiveness and backspin

Not worth another $250

If you can hold out to the AroJet release, you may be able to get a good deal on an LTDx

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the new Cobra Drivers

Best of luck

I've been toying with going the other direction, into the less forgiving mode.  SLDR 430, sub-300cc stuff from the 20th century, or even persimmons.  It's a little odd, but I seem to do better with those older/smaller sticks than with the modern ones.

It's not club length, except for an end of season experiment, I play 43.5" drivers in almost everything.  Only occasionally go to as much as 44".

The Ever Changing Bag!  A lot of mixing and matching
Driver: TM 300 Mini, NV75 or NV85 X -or- Cobra DarkSpeed LS, HZRDUS Green Smoke 70 X

Fwy woods:  TM SIM2 Ti, Aldila Tour Blue 85 X; King LTD 5w, RIP Beta 90 X (this may replace hybrid below)
Hybrid:  Cobra King Tec 2h or 3h, Modus 105 S

Irons grab bag:  3-GW Maltby TS4, Modus 105 S; Tommy Armour 986 Tours 2-PW, Modus 105 S; Mizuno MS-11, Modus 120 S
Wedges:  Maltby Max Milled 56° 1.05 -or- Cobra Snakebite 56°
Putter:  Cleveland HB Soft2 #8S, 34"

Grip preference: various GripMaster leather options, Best Grips Microperfs, or Star Grip Sidewinders of assorted colors

Never played the LTD models, but I've been in and out of a few different forgiveness-model drivers in the last few years - G400max, Stealth, and now have settled into an LTDx. The Ping is as easy to hit as everyone says it is, but it launched and spun too high for me.

I liked the Stealth, & might have kept it if I tinkered a little longer with the right shaft length - stock length at 45.75" is crazy, imo - but I went to a Cobra demo day on a whim this summer and was stunned at how good the LTDx was. I've been playing it at 45" and it's every bit as long as the TM and very forgiving.

If the SIM2 doesn't work out for you this year, be on the lookout for deep discounts on the LTDx near the end of '23. If the Radspeed is any indication, we might see LTDx closeouts going for around $250

I finally ventured out of Cobra drivers this summer, had the FlyZ, the King LTD for years, then the F9 for years and tried both the LTDX and the LTDX LS earlier this year.

The FlyZ was what gave me confidence in drivers again , forgiving but only adequate in distance. The King LTD was a perfect fit, closest to point and shoot as I've ever had and the best feeling driver since the Titleist 910 , used to hit it off the deck fearlessly too. The F9 was the one I kind of wish I still had but the hype of the LTDX LS tricked me into giving it up. The LTDX LS was either stupid long or borderline uncontrollable, even with the same shaft as my F9. The LTDX was a hook machine and that's partially due to the Hazrdus shaft I had in it, way too light , never got along with any of them. Playing the Epic Max LS with a 70 gram whiteboard in it now, put a lighter weight in the rear channel and some lead tape behind the face to compensate, it's pretty good, higher flight than I've historically seen but easy to hit and as long as my F9 with decent rollout . I briefly hit the RadSPEED before the LTDX models came out, felt ok, looked cheap and wasn't anything special.

I'm not convinced the Max LS will be in the bag as long as the King LTD or F9 were , 3 years plus each, but I'm not sure any brand is making a driver that's designed to be as cherished anymore.

The current LTDX is a helluva driver. It comfortably beat out my G400 LST and G425 Max. It is as low spinning as the LST and not much if any harder to hit than the Max while penetrating 15 yards more. Looks great and feel and sound are quite ok as well. I found it a definite upgrade over the original LTD for sure.

+1 to this sentiment

I was so bad with a driver I carried a 2 wood to tee off

Fly Z was a game changer for me

If you go and look for a used F9, it will run you more than a SpeedZone and maybe a RadSpeed in some areas of the internet

I used the OG LTD Pro for a LONG time, it was displaced by the Speedzone about a year ago. I tried the LTDx this year, but didn't like the feel. The face felt really soft to me. My son likes it though, so it will go to him on Christmas. Speedzone in my sig is the gamer for 2023.

Thanks for the replies everyone. If the SIM2 doesn't work out I'll have to give the LTDx a shot.

Weighed my two heads last night and they are within .2 grams of each other so feel SW wise will be maintained. Passes the waggle test with flying colors

The Rogue Max ST LS is the closest I’ve found.

I loved the King LTD Pro with all my heart and would still be playing it if I didn’t crack the stupid SpacePort every 25 rounds. Cobra sent me 3 new ones in a year and a half. Minus the durability, that driver is awesome!!

I had the LTD Pro, twice (never should have sold it🤦‍♂️) and went through a lot of drivers. Played the Epic Max LS last year. I loved it's forgiveness but wasn't crazy about the sound. Trying the Rogue ST Max LS this season. I still have the LTD 5 wood and that's not going anywhere!

It's not gonna happen with today's "planned obsolesce" hahaha. They sent me 3 of the King LTD heads when I was breaking them and when I asked for a fourth they sent me the new model (F8+/F9 I think-which was hot trash-sold it immediately).

Same issue. Driver and fairway. Performance was amazing but that spaceport had issues with cracking.

ive gone through many clubs trying to replace both. And never found that same feel again. Onto an epic max ls now that does perform but not as good feeling

I played the Amp Cell Pro, Bio Cell, BCP, Fly Z and King Ltd but my favorite was the King LTD Pro.  Very solid feel and the longest driver of the bunch for me.  The F8 wasn’t nearly as good and I became infatuated with the Mizuno ST190 and then the first Mizuno STZ.  I would suggest you hit some drives with the STZ or the STZ 220.  They are straight, forgiving, long and they feel good.  They are also very inexpensive as the price was dropped appreciably awhile ago.  I believe it is worth a look and a few swings to see what you think.

I agree about the ltdx ls.

I rarely have a bad miss with mine.

My sim2 it replaced, well that's why it was replaced.  I won't replace it for quite a while.
