POST GOLF COURSE WILDLIFE PICS

I played Chestnut Mountain CC this afternoon. It's between Asheville and Hendersonville,NC.

 

Just like the tiny turkeys last week I again today came across some babies.

Why do I bother taking pics of geese?  Well, it's better than taking pics of all the crap they leave behind.

I played Connestee Falls in Brevard, NC this afternoon. The place is known for having an abundance of deer milling about the course. The deer enjoy watching the golf action.

My Dad retired up there 

I go up almost every year to play 

Did you see any White squirrels?

That is apparently what the town is known for 

Here is one I saw last year when I was up there

Your dad selected a very nice location to retire scott. I really enjoy playing that course. I probably play it 5-7 times a year. No not this time I didn't see any famous white squirrels on the golf course but in past rounds I have seen them. I find the white squirrels are more prevelent at Etowah Valley GC which isn't that far away from Connestee Falls. There are many nice golf courses all around western NC. What others have you and your father played?

That is the only one I have played in that area

I mostly go up there for the member guest once a year

My family and I have done some sightseeing in the Asheville area before

Entire area is really beautiful

Hope you made out ok with the hurricane last year

Don't know how this little fella wound up in the middle of the green, but he was making steady progress.

Makes sense he's crossing in the morning. They don't like to wander around golf courses in the late afternoon because the rabbits make fun of them.

Didn't know sandhill's did that (eat other birds).  That might explain why they taste so good; their called the ribeye's of the sky.  Ribeye of the Sky: Sandhill Cranes in West Texas | MeatEater Season 5

We're not allowed to hunt sand hill cranes in Michigan.  But heard they are tasty.

If you have not seen it, check out Skukuza in Kruger National Park.  Absolutely wild wildlife and you can actually die playing.  We have some tremendous wildlife in Colorado, but nothing like this.
