It’s still absurd when you think about the fact these have terrible resale value. Id put them on par with the latest Maltby stuff.

This is very true. I have a 5, 6 and 7 iron in the Gi22 that I probably couldn't give away and they are in excellent condition.

Haha. I don't disagree at all. But, some don't think about the resale value when they buy. BTW, as of now, the best new value irons should be pxg gen3 (just $100 per iron).

The resale value will kill you… I have a few sets of PF1/PF2…. They cost about $200-300 for full sets in like new condition …. IMHO…. As good as any fitted iron being made…

it was a great company because of the value they offered…. But it’s going to be hard to be a fan of these guys when Sub70 is offered it great stuff with insane customer service and build quality at much more competitive prices… plus sub70 supports their secondary market with selling their preowned…

Bumping this thread....  1st I'll say I'm a fan of the "Little Guy" Independent trying to make it in a tough market however since Eric sold the company the price increase has me looking elsewhere. I really don't see how NL will make it .  They literally doubled the retail cost and even with a 20% off sale I'll look at Srixon and others 100% of the time.  Others have stated the resale value of a independent also kills these so I wish them luck.

They really do make some good looking, good quality stuff. In fact if the prices were reasonable I would buy a set of the 902OS irons right now. However, they have completely lost their mind with their pricing strategy. Hopefully after they go under I can get a set at a really good price.

I really do wonder how they are doing. I thought it was super cool that they were making tour quality gear at prices that were only a little more than building component clubs. Somehow the prices keep going up every time I check their site. Now I think 4-GW is $1200. Why would anyone pay that?

I just checked and now it looks like 902-OS are $1200 for 4-pw. Capitalism at its finest. Tour staff on board and marketing campaigns to pay for I guess. Too bad… classifieds for me

The increase in price is a direct correlation to having to pay staff. Besides PXG which new company has had a lasting stay in the market? PXG is only backed by Bob Parsons E-war chest via Go Daddy so they could maintain through the bumpy start up times including paying a staff of players.

Look at a company like Tour Edge. I think they had been looking for relevance on the Young Guy tours but could only get some sort of footing on the Campions tour.

It's absolutely wild. The Maltby TS3 (player's CB) Pak is built to the buyer's flex and length for under $500. I'd put the TS3 against any other player's CB on the market.

They have to pay Steven Alker.  I got my 623-M with MMT shafts 2 years for under 900 ago which was a steal.  I've always waited until they ran sales where there were promo codes for 15-20% off.  I looked at their prices and it's gone up a bit.  Not sure if they're still running the buy 2 wedges for 200 deal which is really good IMO, but my brother and I got in on that recently.

LOL yes for anyone saying the prices are significantly less…. That’s true, because they reduced them. It remains to be seen whether or not they will try to raise prices again when they release new clubs. I recently purchased a set of 902-pd for $589 which I think is a great value

When I purchased my Gi22's and 902 OS's I thought the pricing was pretty good.  I will say that I only purchased the heads and they were purchased last year during the holidays.  So got them on like a Black Friday sale/deal.  I believe it was like around $65 or $75 a head.  I know the 7i's were around that as I went the demo program route for those.  Now granted I only bought heads cause I had my own shafts, and I only got 7 thru PW/AW so that did help also.

Both are great irons.  What I enjoyed was that they were heavy heads compared to other iron heads I have played.  So they went well with my graphite shafts that I play.  Kept swing weight were I wanted it and kept the head heavy feeling that I enjoy.  My ball striking w/ my irons this year was really good.  Had my lowest rounds ever w/ them in the bag.  Very forgiving and went the distances I wanted them to go consistently.  I am not a distance seeker.  I set a yardage that I want a particular club to go and I expect that club to go that yardage and nothing more.  Since I couldn't sell the 902's I built them back up and started playing them late September and will play them for rest of fall golf.  Great feeling irons and also a good amount of forgiveness.

With all that nice stuff being said I will agree w/ the comments that their resale value online is pretty nonexistent.  Tried to sell just the 902 OS heads back in the summer, but couldn't get one person to buy em and they were virtually brand new.  I had only hit the 7 and PW and played 1 full round w/ all the irons.  Got offers that were so low that it was pointless to sell em.  Hence why I built them back up after my leagues were done and it is now fun fall golf.   I think if I sell one of the sets I will do so locally through Facebook marketplace or local pages and not focus online w/ them (i.e. here or ebay, etc..).  I would probably be able to get a few more bucks for em locally.  But yea great irons, but no resale value to speak of, and that will probably be reason why I don't get another set of NL irons.

Totally agree with this, I have some Gi22 irons that I couldn't give away. Literally was offering them for like $30/club at one point.

You better love them because resale value basically zero.

I had a 5-pitch set that took me 8 months to sell for $400. It was basically new with premium shafts.

Just bought the new TE+ 5-Gap and 54/60 Max Milled wedges for $565 shipped. Unreal! Cant beat that to have a back up/travel set on hand that has a players look, minimal offset (albeit a bit more in the shorter irons since its constant), and super soft feel. Hell, it may go right to the top spot in my rotation. Loved the original TE but it wasn't perfect. The new pearl finish, more compact/shallow better looking cavity, and refined sole radius may make this a big winner. I love the lofts as they really remind me of the old school gapping you just don't see anymore. There is 3 degrees from the 4 to 5 to 6 iron (I had the 5 bent 1 strong to make it 4 degrees) and then 4 degrees up to the 48 Gap Wedge which is essentially an old school pitching wedge. So what you really have is a perfectly gapped old school 4-P that is dressed up as a 5-Gap wedge. Add in 2 scoring wedges like the good ole days and there you have it. The modern 5 degrees between 8-9-P-G leaves too big of full swing gaps in my game. Even my current 0211ST blades are guilty of that.

The Tri-Weight wedges are really nice wedges, a good size and they are consistent. I have the 50 and it makes the bag often because I love it on full shots. The weights are changeable too. I have been thinking about a 58.

True, but if you build with the same shaft as offered by NL the prices are similar....at least at the NL "sale" price!

Those look lovely.

I’ve been looking for a modern DCI type club. Just simple, no polymers, goo, tungsten or anything else, and those might be just the thing.

Only thing is Maltbys sometimes look a bit, um, like a component brand at address 😬

I agree, I can't do the goo, polymer, but tungsten in the toe doesnt bother me. I have to say the original TE had a little component look at address but it had a thin topline and small rear end. I think with the way they refined it and with the pearl finish which I am assuming is close to the TS4 finish that these will look perfect. Also, maltby forgings are as soft as any forging out there. The orignal TE are like hitting a marshmallow.
