Advice for a friend…

So one of the guys I golf with frequently is asking for a little advice. I am not as knowledgeable on the golf swing as many of you are. He’s a solid golfer, eight handicap, hits the ball a mile. He tends to sometimes have big misses to the right that aren’t really slicing but just big blocks. He’s curious if there’s anything in his swing that could account for this. I leave it to the experts on here…any advice for him?

Okay, his grip looks fine to me, but I am not an expert, is that what you are trying to say? To me, it looks like his hips get too fast and he has a held off release at times..not sure what can be done about that.....although it should be noted, when we shot this video he was hitting everything perfect....of course...

Wrists are over hinging. His right hand come off the club at the top.

He is coming too far from the inside as his right hip drives toward the target too much, thrusting his pelvis toward the ball, instead of rotating left hip away from the ball.

I see this a lot. It's very difficult getting the club set correctly in the lead hand when taking the grip on the ground. Puts the club a bit too much in the palm and the grip will slip in the hands. Ben Hogan talks about it in 5 lessons chapter one. As far as the swing is concerned, Monte covered it.
