70g driver shaft users, what weight in fairways?

For those of you bagging a 70g driver shaft, what weight are you playing in fairways? Been thinking of making the jump to the 80g range, specifically the evenflow black in 85g

I use 70g in my driver, 3w, and 7w. I know most say you should go heavier but 70g in all just work for me.

Driver: 70g, 5 (4 wood): 80g, 7 wood: 90g.

 

I play all of these about 1/2" to 1" shorter than stock/standard.

4/5w 70g range shafts, and since you mention it, I happen to go 85g EF Black in 7w, all shorter then OEM Cally lengths 🙂 

 

I don't have a huge issue with a 60g driver at 44.5-45", just seem to be a bit more consistent with 70g from some fitter testing. Not night and day but the data pointed that way for tempo.

I have played driver shafts between 65 and 74 grams in recent years but 70 or just under is my preferred weight, I play much heavier shafts in both my fairway woods (between 85 and 90 grams) because I play them at a little shorter length and they are designed mostly for accuracy and my 3 wood is essentially just a tee club.

80g for me… need to figure out weights in my hybrid and driving iron, though… irons are 130g

Currently my fairway shaft on paper is just a few grams heavier than driver, but pretty close to same weight once cut down for length. I have played mostly 80-85 gram 3/4-wood shafts in the past for tempo and control reasons. That said I wanted to give this fairway shaft a try and it just felt good to me so in the bag it went. I go to 90+ gram shafts in the hybrids after that.

I'm using an RIP Beta 90 in my 3w.  Also have a Tour Blue 85 lying around that could get plugged in to a fairway at some point.

70 in the driver and 85 in the 3 wood. Messing with hybrids at the moment but 105 feels good. 125 in the irons.

80 in 3 wood, if I was gaming the 7wood its a 95g.  will probably be pulling the current shaft in the hybrid which is 90X and going with something in the 100 to 115g

I like 65-75 in the river, 85 fairway, 105 hybrid, 130 irons, 135+ wedges. 
 

Have been considering 75+ in driver, but haven’t decided just yet.

Used to do 70 grams in driver but now dropped to 60 and added hot melt/lead tape to get the weight up.  Shafts these days are just as stable IMO in the lighter weight class compared to their heavier counterparts, IMO.  With that being said, I've always stuck to 80 grams in my 3 metal.  90 gram in my hybrid.  I like heavier shafts in everything minus driver.

Definitely 80g in the fairway woods, could even jump into 90's if you're feeling adventurous.

I decided to give 85g a shot and see how that goes. That’ll go nicely progression wise with the MMT 90 I’ll be putting in my DI, since they come in at 98 grams.

I have a 74g Accra in my driver and I’m trying to decide between an 80s Rogue White and a 75g 6.0 Evenflow White in my Ping G425 5 wood that I have turned down to 16.5°.  Both shafts are cut down to 42” playing length, and the driver plays at 45”. 
 

On paper, the Rogue White should be the better of the 2, but I’m really liking the Evenflow White on the course better.  Both launch pretty similar for me off the tee, but the Evenflow white seems to be better off the deck.

That EF black is a nice shaft. 70@dr, 85@3w, 105@hy, 130@3i and up.

I use 70-75g shafts in my "tour length" (44.75") drivers and go to 80-85 with my FWs. I like the added heft.

70g in 3W, 85g in 3H. I tried a 70g in a 5W and couldn't control it. 

 

I play a 75g X Ventus black at 44.5" in my driver. Seems to work well: plenty of distance and good control.

69g driver (I can round up, right?), 106g utility, 130g irons and one wedge, 134g wedges. Works for me.

I like the rule of 10 per club.  70 Driver, 80 3w, 95 driving iron, etc.
