He was playing his Nike irons when he was relevant. He even hit up other ex-Nike Pros and scoured the bay looking for backups.

It would be unfair to the forum to make conclusions prematurely.  However, given the circumstances, citing his golf performance alone, and the lack of a win at the Qatar Masters, Tommy Fleetwood is going through a rough patch.  And rather than the beard and uncut hair being some sort of "social media neoteric stylistic statement", it shows what I call "a lack of self-maintenance."  We should assume he is probably sleeping on the sofa.   Marital problems are likely.

Vokey offers exotic grinds, especially in the tour lob wedges...whereas I TM in their own admission doesn't do a lot of grinding of the wedges.

Not for the amateur, but the pros get any grind they want.  Literally.  This goes beyond that

I think he must have wanted a wider sole wedge than TM has. TM higher grinds aren't particularly wide while the K grind has a fairly big sole. You can't really add material to the club so the only way he's going to get a bigger sole is to use another brand.  

 

He may be could have gotten there with a hi toe, but he may not like the look.

Scottie just plays a standard LBK. This is the custom hand ground LBK with pre-worn leading edge and trailing edge grind. It been played by Kevin Na, Webb Simpson, Xander and JT. It's very similar to the new Callaway Z grind.
