AK has his own signature apparel line with DJs company extracurricular.  I wonder if he will be joining DJs team next year?

Does DJ really have an apparel company called Extracurricular, this not a funny spoof? Thats so great...

I cant imagine why AK would be joining any team at this point, hasnt the PR thing died out at this point? Ordinarily I would think LIV would sub people in for the least-good players but he's the least-good of all of them.

I think over his 12 rounds he is 48 over par. Not sure if that included the Asian Tour event or not.

Its just a complete bomb at this point. LIV thought they would score some sort of massive PR win and it turns out almost no one cared.

I've said more than once, I would have been rooting him on if he was grinding his way through mini tours or Mondays attempting a comeback. But he did what apparently was best for his family, took the quick guaranteed money and honestly is just clowning around at this point. He cant play golf at a professional level.

If his name was Joe Smith and he was coming in DFL or near DFL every week even the LIV fans would be *screaming* to have him cut and give someone else a chance.

Are you implying there are LIV fans? I'm confused

The year AK was defending at Quail Hallow in Charlotte I took my family to see the event.  My 7yo son saw AK exiting the fitness trailer and yelled his name.  Kim jogged over, pulled a sharpie out of his shorts, signed my son’s hat and then stooped down and talked with my son for several minutes.  My son (and my wife and I) are AK fans for life the way he talked to my son and made him feel so special that day.

Like a lot of people, AK has gone through injuries and other difficult periods in his life.  He’s working hard and trying to make a comeback which is admirable.  His swing is there and only time will tell if he can be consistent enough to be competitive.  Sports needs these types of stories and I’m certainly rooting for AK.   I’ve been around a lot of professional athletes in my life and few have been as genuine as AK was with my son the day.

I'm really not impressed by AK here - at all. For a guy who cant get out of his own way on the course, he's doing his best to be a complete and utter joke off the course too.

If you cant play tournament golf anymore, maybe dont clown around and draw even more attention to yourself?

Whatever you think of Brandel, this crap by AK is completely childish and unnecessary. He comes off as a guy who just woke up after being asleep for 15 years and says "oh, this is how you are supposed to act on social media - SO MANY CLICKS."

Whatever I had left in me that was rooting for AK to succeed is completely gone, guy just comes of as a complete idiot at this point.

A bit unbecoming for sure, but BC brings it up on himself.

He's been in pure clown mode since the inception of LIV, and deserves much more criticism on his commentary then what he's received.

Probably not AK's place to bring it, but BC is certainly deserving of it.

I still don’t get it.  There are dozens or hundreds (thousands?) of people who used to play very high level golf and now they don’t.  Why spend a nanosecond thinking about Kim?  People really seem to care about him for some reason.  What is it?

Arguable one of the most talented and exciting young players over the last 25 years.  Kim was an instant fan favorite with both the swing and short game to back it up.  Had some unlucky injuries early, then numerous surgeries and had to leave the game much too early.  That’s why people care to hear about him and his story.  Raw talent level rarely seen since he left the Tour in 2012.

Amazing how much a quick interaction can influence one’s opinion of a person for life. Both positively and negatively. Reminds me of approaching Jon Rahm after he exited the practice putting green at Rivera. Still dressed in my Genesis volunteer shirt and hat I tell Jon he’s my son’s favorite player and that it’s his birthday. Then asked for a quick autograph for my son. Jon just looks at me and without skipping a step says “I’m just gonna keep on walking”. Def not saying I don’t like Jon bcs of it. I don’t know what circumstances he might have been dealing with (bathroom, hungry 🤷🏼‍♂️). But can say it definitely comes to mind every time I see him.

Perfect post.

AK found a way back and as you have stated numerous times he 100% HAS NOT taken advantage of a chance he would have never gotten anywhere.

Brandel is Brandel. Sorry he is nothing but a media troll now.  You can even see it on GC how the other host look at him with his comments.

The worse part...all the personal attacks by AK and Brandel are true. All of it, about each of them.  So pathetic they stoop to this level.

Last week the PGAT lost a great golfer who looked to be turning it all around personally on and off the course and neither idiot can stop for one moment, pause....to reflect it's just a damn game.  Feel bad for the family.

PGAT, LIV, etc. I have stopped watching any pro golf.  Just a complete waste of energy to even try and support anything related to professional golf with all the childish cr*p.

Hope everyone is getting out and playing as that is 1000% better....!!

I find that when I do the math, a large % of people on social media who claim to be huge AK fans seem to have been about 10 years old when he actually won. The myth has grown so much over the years its hard to keep track. He was obviously great but he had a couple good years and won 3x. That's not overwhelming.

And lets be clear. I'd have been 1000% interested in hearing his story, hearing what happened to him etc - no question. Its a canyon sized leap between that and wanting to see him punt it around DFL every week. Does he deserve this just because life cut him a bad break 12 years ago? Does he deserve a LIV spot any more than (insert the name of a hundred other guys that came, won a few times and disappeared)?

In my experience (opinion) being big on social media has very little to do with being deserving or actually talented.

I remember when he exploded on the scene and seemed to be ready to be a superstar.  He was really impressive during that short time.  My guess is that his problems off the course were more than just injuries, but who knows.  Whatever they were, I applaud his attempt at a comeback, while being disgusted by him behaving like a vulgar 12 year old on Twitter.  What possesses adults to respond like that, particularly one that is in the public eye and represents a business?  Seriously, I’ll never understand that.

I applaud AK's business savviness to exploit this opportunity.
