150th place guy is going to be over that easy.  That safety net doesn't catch many guys. And 1 or 2 decent week will offset that 550k meaning that missed cuts actually mean no money.

I’ll confess I know nothing about the course or setup or anything about LIV, lol, and won’t be Googling (who knows what I’d start getting for suggestions, haha) but I assume an easy setup so will just predict he’s bottom third on the first day and if he shoots even an average round all sorts of exploding ads will appear.

Yes and no, even LIV know this is unlikely to work hence no pre-tournament press conference etc. otherwise they'd be going all in but its been relatively low-key. The odds say this will be messy. His swing still looks sweet to me but reality says it's almost certain it won't work. It doesn't help 54's credibility aspect either.

Is it really a great marketing move? Outside of a very narrow age band of people - and most golf forum users - people couldn't care less about AK. There's a whole generation of young golfers who have no idea who he was. If they weren't watching LIV before, this isn't changing that.

It’s a gimmick, but it’s effective in a limited scope, and underlines the lack of interest in LIV

 

For example, I’m looking forward to seeing how AK does, I’ll probably watch about 10 minutes trying to see him live, then I’ll just wait for the AK highlights to come out. 

 

But Maybe LIV will have more of these “wild card” players to attempt to gain ratings?

 

Who is next? 🤔 

 

Actually, they could invite a whole bunch of celeb/athlete golfers and put one on each team. That might get people to watch

Looks like AK is ready for some pickup basketball in the park with some old guys after the range session - if Stenson came out sporting slob “sheik” I’d definitely watch for a minute  (here, if someone posted the vid).

No I’m just commenting on his comments about being hated.  I don’t think he’s hated. I think he maybe a drama queen.  But not hated .

Hasn’t he been living in Vegas or something over the years, seen on the betting tables with his insurance money? I think that is where most his public appearances have been. It does look like he broke his nose pretty good or from something else. Who knows. Will be interesting to see how he plays. Rust will def. show up at some point in his game the more he plays.
