1) I have not. I might not be on the latest firmware either.

2) Both have been very good for me. Bear in mind that I'm only really looking at carry, and I don't curve the ball a lot. So what I'm seeing from the monitor+app is pretty close on direction to what I see on the range. Once in a while there's a squirrely read, but it's almost always obvious and I just ignore it. 

3) With the caveat that I'm basing this mostly on differential with my on-course numbers (because of the visibility issue I mentioned), it's reading consistently about 10-15 yards long.

It updated automatically when I opened the app to upload my range session. I think it mostly added swing without ball speed.

...with regard to the long reads, some of that might have been the slope of the area I was hitting from. I set it up a bit more level recently and the numbers for driver seemed fine.

Is there published information about what is included in the firmware? It would be nice to see what is being added prior to updating.
 

I just updated the MSC App and VC SC4 firmware and do not see the option to use it without a ball.

I'm trying to make a decision between r10, sc4, and mlm2pro. Mlm2pro would be a winner, but the cost of subscriptions is bothering me. 

 

A few sc4 questions... 

1) did the firmware updates provide swing axis? Does it seem accurate, and does it require marked balls? 

2) what are the extra fees/subscriptions involved, and what is available without extra subs? 

3) would you recommend sc4 if you were buying today, and why?

1) not sure about swing axis and haven’t checked since any updates and unfortunately voice caddie doesn’t make it easy to see what each updated includes

 

2) no subscription fees unless you want to sign up for e6 packs as shown in screen shot below.  The SC4 does come with the e6 range and 1 sim course (Aviara Golf Club)

 

3) I was between MLM2Pro and SC4 and ultimately decided on SC4 for a) no subscriptions b) don’t have to hook up iPhone/iPad for range sessions c) don’t have to use those specific mlm dot balls.  I still debate whether the MLM2Pro would be better if I was hitting indoors more or wanted more sim features but overall I’ve been happy with the SC4.   My struggle now is I’d like to buy the basic sim pack but don’t understand how e6 can get away with charging $250 and $450 per year

...I think the latest firmware kind of nerfed my remote. I can now only use it within a window of a few inches. It's weird, because I didn't have this issue before. It seems like the carry and peak height numbers are getting a little more consistent, but this remote issue is really frustrating. Especially because one of the reasons I got it is to be able to use it without a phone.

Not yet. The remote still works, but only in a very narrow "window"; others have reported this, but I haven't had an issue until my latest session at the range. I had the SC300i for a spell and it's remote also had issues.

Does any of the RCT balls help with numbers on the SC4? ive tried to find more detail online and videos but all ive found was info from last year when the unit was released.

The RCT ball seems to be degrading the performance of SC4. Numbers are much better when i use normal balls.

Got one of these the other day.  Brushed away the snow, hit a couple balls could barely hit a 7 iron 100 yrds.  Grabbed 4 iron same thing.  Thought maybe the net was too close.  Numbers seemed pretty random.

 

Took it back out today, in between the rain, and  was a having a hard time getting it to register shots. I started wiping the balls off before I hit them, and was in business.  Apex seemed low, spin low distance still a bit short.  I took a break and downloaded the app.  Hit some more balls and the numbers seemed much better.  Ran the update. Hit some more balls.  I haven't tried the simulator on e6 connect yet.

 

It seems reasonably accurate. Total distance seems believable,  carry distance seems short.  However, if the cold is affecting distance it may be correct.  The distance between carry and total is not correct.  A 7 iron with a 130 ft apex and 9000 rpm spin is not gonna roll out 10 yrds.

 

Spin probably reads high at times.  It shows a difference between a Titliest and a Top Flight though.  This surprised me because I figured it doesn't actually measure spin, but uses an algorithm to guesstimate it.  

 

Still no spin axis or shot shape.  No spin on gw, sw, lw.

 

I didn't hit driver, but hit a couple 5 woods.  It seemed to read a little longer than expected.

This is the only con that I’ve found as well. e6 includes a driving range and I generally use it indoors as the numbers seem to be a little more accurate.  That said, I haven’t figured out how to save those indoor sessions on e6.  
 

When I go to the outdoor range I just use the SC4 unit itself and then those swings auto-upload into the app when I get home.  I figured doing it this way I can keep my outdoor sessions separate than the indoor ones.

Thanks for this. I what i thought but didnt know is there had been a new update recently to iron it out with RCT balls. I think am going to hold off now am set my sights on the mevo plus

Has anyone had any problems with SC4 projecting every ball to the right?  Everyone that has hit all balls go to the right. Normally we don’t hit that way. Please help if possible. Thx

I've definitely seen plenty go right. Might be an alignment issue.

There is an update released in June that seemed to resolve some accuracy concerns.

 

The MySwingCaddie software for the Voice Caddie SC4 launch monitor received an update on June 13, 2024, with the following new features:

• Shot equalizer: A distance control function
• Statistical data comparison: The ability to compare statistical data by driver group
• Smart remote: A new feature for the
  SC4
• Launch direction: A new feature for the SC4
• UI/UX improvements: Updates to the user interface and experience

I saw the same issue with the SC4 Pro I got a few days ago.  Will test further, but if this is something others have seen with the original SC4, which appears to use the same hardware, then maybe it's not just my unit.  

 

By any chance are you predominantly a draw player?  I know these budget LMs are not perfect, and have to use algorithms to "guess" what they cannot actually measure.  Wondering if certain golfers, depending on how they predominately launch the ball off the face will be prone to more/less issues.
