Do be careful that your little and wrinkly sprout isn't subject to any electrical charge riding down the road because you went no drawers. Maybe wear rubber soles shoes as a safety precaution.

... You been here so you know. I don't wear shoes from the end of May through October. It's amazing to go to a nice restaurant and see people dressed up but wearing sandals. These are my Ecco summer shoes:

Those of us that have been hanging out in the Lounge since the beginning or have been a Lounger for a good bit of time know that our Hippie in Phoenix is very comfortable in his own skin.

What no Birkenstock's? 😀

Yeah I know about living in sandals in the summer when one is a Maricopa county, AZ resident very well. Heck you also have to get shoes for your dog/dogs if you live there. Got to take care of your furry pals paws. It is hysterical to watch a dog wear shoes for the first time but eventually they get used to them.

Possibly that. I like your thinking.

I’d bet my other leg Stafford isn’t playing.  McVay doesn’t like playing starters especially his QB who is hurt with a back injury and out until next week.

I played 18 today with my golf buddy.  Played El Dorado Golf Course in Long Beach CA.  Is a good course and test of golf.  I was completely off and my buddy was on - we play $10 per hole, he won 7 so I parted with $70  today.  That is only a small part of the day.  We ended our golf and grabbed a couple beers to hang out at the course and relax before the drive home.  We are sitting next to the Pro shop and restaurant.  The driving range is only 60 feet away.  Suddenly we hear loud combative voices yelling very loudly and aggressively.  A fight starts very quickly, a physical throwing of punches and rolling on the ground and blood everywhere especially on one guy's forehead and nose.  We did not move from our table and just watched.  It was over rather quickly but we did not know "why" it happened.  Paramedics and Police were there in 5 minutes.  The guy who threw the punches and "so called won the fight" fled away.  The guy who "lost the fight" stayed for treatment from the medics and also gave the police the report.  One ambulance and 3 police cars.  There were several witnesses, we really did not see the entire thing, only the rolling on the ground, but there were a few filling the police in with the details.  It so happens that the guy who got beat up was waiting for a driving range stall to open up.  The accoster took the stall and ignored the waiting guy.  There you have it.  The golfers said they knew the accoster and he always was a "nice guy".  The guy who got beat up was determined to catch his assaulter.  The victim told us he got head butted and did not see it coming.  He had a huge gash about 2.5 inches long on his forehead and his nose looked busted.  I think this happens at public courses more often than private ones.  Maybe LP can let us know if he has ever seen fisticuffs at his private course.  The police did a great job and said the perp will be charged with a felony assault and that they will find the guy who stole the driving range stall from the guy who was waiting for it.

Damn. Yikes. I know you and your golf buddy didn't expect such a commotion to take place just hanging out after the round having beers.

That’s a little aggressive. Must have been a slow day.

Yes, Long Beach is a tough city.  Quite a criminal element in that city.  The cops are tough and roll strong.  The golf course is in the nicer part of Long Beach.

I know what you are talking about SP. Back in my Vegas days I had a couple of neighbor/friends and these guys were born and raised in Long Beach and had escaped to LV to get a more settled life. They both worked in the Paint and Maintenance Department for the Wynn Corp because they were also union painters back in LB. Both raised hell and partied hard but never missed a day of work. They were half punk rocker half bikers. Plenty of tough dudes from Long Beach for sure.

Credit goes out to NCLancer for introducing us to Annie a few years back.

@NCLancer

My Michigan sister was making noise this week online announcing that she bought a Chevy pickup.

Annie has lost some weight for sure, but her cuteness hasn't diminished one bit.

The only flaw that I see is somehow a born and raised Michigander ended up a damn Packers fan.

Annie will be giving us her NFL weekly recaps soon enough. 🙂

Missed that this was in LBC. Yeah, I wouldn’t be a cop there.  Or anywhere, but that’s another topic.

The polymer those grips use also deadens things. I hate that. A putter that “feels soft” has somehow been interpreted as “better” and that simply does not work for me.

I like rubber grips, as firm as possible. Rock hard even better. I’ll take tacky or rough, either one, since I’m not a big practicer tearing my hands up is not really a concern.

My long putter is a Bobby Grace F22 — the gold standard for side saddle putting. I like it, and I’d love it if I could make two changes:

No insert. Bobby would throw up all over this since his insert material is pretty cool and unique, but I’d select a flat metal surface every day.

Rubber grips instead of polymer. This can be done by hacking it like Langer does. I wish someone other than Winn was making split grips for long putters, since I just don’t like the Winn feel at all.

Did you know that Grace makes an aluminum radial insert that you can swap in for your current insert, definitely makes the feel much more firm. He use to offer a copper insert also, but i dont believe those are available anymore. I have a handful of F-22's and I have a custom that has a milled radial solid face with no insert. Im sure it was a one off, but he has done some pretty cool custom things with his putters. Many in my Grace collection are simply impulse buys because I have never seen one like that and probably wont ever see one like it again. If people can just putt with a Grace for 20mins and get past what they believe is to soft of a feeling with the insert, which after using for a short time really isnt that soft. Grace putters roll the ball better and are more forgiving than anything else made.

I know what I’ll be doing with my putter when the weather gets crappy here in Nov and I can’t play. 🙂

... Preaching' to the choir! I absolutely love the insert in my BG 6330. My son liked the feel and roll of mine so much I bought him a 4 diamond for college graduation and it replaced a Scotty Cameron I bought him for high school graduation. As you know the "Tour Insert" used has a soft feel/sound but rolls the same speed as a solid face putter, it just starts rolling sooner instead of skidding.

... I don't know if I have told this story but I had my original 6330 stolen in LA and contacted Bobby about a replacement but he wasn't producing any and had no trade ins but told me he would keep an eye open. About 4 months later he called me and said he had a mint trade in and was holding it for me. I called back and said send me a bill and he was super apologetic but a pro on the Asian Tour wanted it. Brutal. Then about 3 months later he called and said the Asian Pro sent it back to him and he gave me a discount for all the trouble. Great guy and I thought he went well over what is expected for a customer because he could have sold it for at least $250 more than he charged me.

Mr. Grace is a fantastic person to answer questions and to deal with. I actually acquired a 6330 over the winter and in one of our conversations i mentioned to him that I had one and he ended up wanting it. The look of the 6330 is absolutely amazing and I had wanted one for a while, but my stroke is not very conducive for a blade putter like that. We worked out a deal and he explained to me why you could no longer produce the 6330, definitely a bad deal for him. The 6300 is a very cool blade putter also. That 4 diamond is sweet. I have two different 3 diamond custom weld plumber necks with one being a widebody. Have a handful of slant weld neck's and F18,f22, f35, NYC Tours also. It all started with me in the fall of 1994 after Nick Price won the PGA Championship and I received my first Bobby Grace a Fat Lady Swings. Needless to say when he went to the radial face is where I feel his putters made the absolute biggest jump and really separated his putters from everyone else's

I have a prototype Fat Lady, very early model with no serial number or anything. I bought that thing new, and it was a serious chunk of change for a HS senior. Wish I’d had the sense to keep a cover on it but no one did in those days so it’s got some….patina.

I’m a lifetime Ping devotee and Grace putters are the only other ones I like.

... I hear that. I never thought I would use any other putter than my Bobby Grace 6330 and coming from many years with an 8802 the perimeter weighting and roll face was magical on fast and smooth bent grass greens. Moving to Phoenix and playing grainy Bermuda greens and using a putter from as much as 5yds off the green, I needed more heft and went to a mallet. Tried a few and went back to an Anser style heel shafted putter before finding my heel shafted Evnroll mallet that I ordered custom without an alignment aid for an extra $50. 🙄 I don't normally mishit my putter but on very long putts that are into the grain I really have to hammer it sometimes and no doubt some of those aren't as centered as a "normal" putt, so the added forgiveness of the Evnroll face is a big benefit.

Yesterday morning was steamy but a slight breeze helped.  84 in the car at 8AM and 94 when we finished at noon as Mrs NCL and I played at a local course, Lake Winds.  Could have finished quicker but a foursome somehow must not have seen us behind them on the back 9 as we watched them tee off on 12 and then waited on every shot behind them.  We slowed our pace but caught them again on the 16th as they, on a Par 3, searched the pond and also the brush looking for balls.  Just complete rudeness and/or utter unawareness on a hot day.

I was proud that I did not allow the frustration to derail my game as I carded a 43/45=88 from 5600 yards.  5 lost ball penalties ( 1 in the rough, 1 in the trees, 3 went swimming), 31 putts with no 3 putts, 11-14 fairways hit.  I have really tried to improve my lag putting by being more aggressive on long putts and I like the results.  The occasional squirrely shot is still in my bag and could rear it's ugly head at anytime...have no control over how or when it might strike.  Any club at anytime!

BTW, Mrs NCL had another good day as she had a LWPB (Lake Winds personal best) score of 94.  She missed 1 fairway all day and even then she hit a strong drive but it hit the right side cart path and bounded into the rough.  She's been playing well the last few months.

The 17th fairway looks to be in very rough shape but it actually plays okay.  The pond behind us features 2 white swans and we tried to get them in the background of our selfie.  They appear more majestic in real life!

Looking good you two.

Great recap NCL. Way to battle in the heat. NC golf is a touch hotter compared to Michigan golf aye? Congrats to both of you on your fairways hit %'s.

Career low round for T$. The lady of the house has been trending up this summer. Nice shooting Mrs NCLancer.
