Its not. They are back on 9 irons in the cb. I could have ordered a whole set of cb and waited for them to come back in stock but decided to do a combo with the mb instead and not wait.

So initial thoughts. I hit them last night a little bit on my simulator. I have been golfing every day for the last week and my back was hurting so I only hit maybe 40ish balls. I am hoping that's why this was happening but for some odd reason I was super inconsistent with the cb irons. I was hitting the 7 iron cb and my distances were anywhere from 160-168. In the fittin I was around 173-176 very consistently. I was like ok thats odd. Grabbed the mb irons and it was a super consistent smoke show. 8 iron was 159-160 yards 5 times in a row. Ok grabbed the 9 iron mb. Same thing. 150 over and over. ok this is odd. pitching wedge mb. 138-140 on auto pilot. Grabbed the 6 iron cb. 175 yards. uuhhh ok. By this point my back was telling me to stop. So I called it a night but I cant stop thinking bout it. What in the freaking world is going on. Im hoping I was doing something funky due to my back but the mb irons were dead nuts on. Im going to try again tonight and iff its all over the place im going back in to have the lofts checked. The cb irons were pretty explosive in the fitting.

A thought.  I don’t know how sensitive you are to turf/different mats.  But when resting the cbs I noticed I didn’t get great contact when hitting off a real firm mat, but when I moved the ball to a softer type of mat I was able to compress them much better

i think this has something to do with the sole being a bit wider and the firm mat impacting my dyanmic loft.

AH HA! This may be it. Hopefully.  The fitting bay they used a trufiber and its very soft and easy to get through where my hitting strip is very tight and firmer. Still my 243 were fine off my mat. Still seems very strange to me.

Agree some of that stuff doesn’t make sense.

I could hit the cobra mbs off both mats equally as well, with no difference during the same session.  Made me think it’s the soles

I really hope this isnt the case as I play in my garage like 4 -5 days a week. I could go to a different hitting strip tho. I am going to try it again tonight and Ill throw my old hitting strip in which is softer with some fluffyness to it and see if its any different.

The options for ordering Cobra CB are marked sold out.

FWIW, this is not the first time the full CB was marked as sold out.  When they were released last year and I was looking into them after initial positive reviews, I noticed the full CBs were also sold out.  I ordered my full CB set last month, so clearly it's possible for them to go from sold out to in stock.  But of course there will come a time when they truly stop production.  I wouldn't use the sold out indicator on their site to be that determining factor yet though without calling someone at Cobra...especially when there is not a newer model announced yet.

Well hit them a lot more on the simulator last night. Played the cb a lot better after more time with them but im not sure why i just cant find a rhythm with them. As soon as i grab the mb its flush city and the ball goes exactly where I want it. Not sure why. Ill get them out to a real range and see if anything changes but im kinda baffled as to why I cant get along with the cb right now.

I'm watching this with somewhat of a personal curiosity. I am currently gaming a flow set with 3-6 CB and 7-G MB. I play the 7-G better than any clubs I've owned with the exception of my RF Copper MB set. That set of 4-P are all MB. I hit all the clubs well, but don't particularly care for the feel of the Modus shafts as much. With my flow set, I hit the MB very well as stated, but really struggle to flush the CB's, including the 5 & 6 which are typically a pretty strong club for me. I know it's me; just haven't figured out why.

I dont understand it either. I am flushing the mb but can not get consistent with the cb. Im kind of at a loss on what to do. I may end up ordering mb in the long irons.

I have always loved the feel and turf interaction of the CB/MBs but never could find them for an affordable price in a shaft I could realistically play.

My X100-spec'ed order came in today, so I'll be posting my S-taper 120 set shortly to the classifieds.   Keep an eye out if that shaft works for you.

Let us know how you like the x100 set!  Interested to hear how they compare.

I ordered a set with x100 as that is what i have recently been playing, but wasn’t able to demo it in this club before ordering.  I did hit the stick s taper and it held up surprisingly well.

I have to wait for an order of grips to come in (Cobra doesn't stock tour velvet ribbed), but I did get to compare the S-taper 120 vs the X100 directly at a cobra demo day.   The X100 felt heavier as expected, flew a bit lower but most importantly really tightened up dispersion (with the 7 iron, anyway).   I've been using X100 for a while so it just felt better all around for me.

This is so interesting to me. During my Cobra fitting I was hitting the MB's the best out of the MB/CB/KT. I placed my order for 4-5 KT 6-GW CB's because why would I play blades, it's 2024. 2 months later cobra irons went on sale so I ordered the PW and GW in the MB because why not lol. I am finding the MB's no less forgiving than the CB's and considering getting the 8 and 9 in MB if they go on sale again.

I do wanna say I don't struggle or find hitting the CB's any different to the MB's

I really dont understand it. I should hit the cb as good or better than the mb. I just cant. Ive put a good 250-300 swings on these things so far on my simulator and I am still baffled. I am half tempted to trade these back in on my mizuno pro 243 set. My wife is gunna kill me if I tell her I have to spend another $800 to buy 4-7 mb irons. I just can not figure this out. Maybe they are different somewhat in swing weight or something.

speed is fine. I would get fit and make sure that shaft works for you. I tried it at my fitting and didnt like it.

I've been in Dynamic Golds for years. Anywhere from 105 to S300.

I just want something that feels more stable into the turf.

I currently game modus 120 stiff and love it. My 7 iron ss is around 88. I like the more active feeling handle but the shaft is very tip stiff. I also like the feel of dynamic gold x100s.

There aren't any good local fitters.  I have a good deal on these. I may just take it.

Be careful with the $ Taper. I’ve played Dynamic Gold or AMT White for years. Tried the $ Tapers at 120 gram. Hit some shots that felt great, looked up and horrendous pulls and pull hooks. You would need to test them. I’d suggest finding a single club on eBay with that shaft and give it a go.
good luck!

My King Tours came with the $-taper 120s and (to me) it felt like swinging a piece of rebar. For reference, my 7 iron SS is 91 to 93mph. Flight was good, decent angle was good. But I felt I had to swing out of my shoes though. I've had my KT's for over a year, and 2 months ago changed over to the Modus Tour 105 in stiff, and I'm so glad I made the change. Flight is great, decent angle is great. I highly recommend trying the $-taper first, IMO the stiff is a stout shaft. I do like the $-taper lite though.

I got them nearly new at half price. At worst I'll have a buddy put lighter shafts in them.

It's less expensive to order custom specs through other retailers
I ordered a gap and now a 3-iron in Modus 120S through golfdiscount - it still comes from Cobra directly but it's much less expensive for some reason (~$50)

Just out of curiosity - I love my MIM Tours with Recoil shafts - are the King Tours a massive improvement over them in terms of dispersion and forgiveness for those that have played both? Visually, the KT's look so much more sleek and neat given the lack of branding on them LOL.

I know this may be a little late to answer, but my wife has the MIMs and I have the Tours. The MIMs feel soft but with a firm feel (if that makes sense), the Tours are soft as butter all the way around. From what we have found, the Tours are a big improvement in dispersion and forgiveness. She wants my tours lol

Thanks for the reply. Not what I wanted to hear - more forgiving and with those looks, that could be expensive for me 😅.

I really like my MIM's and am hitting my irons really well now - so a tough dilemma.
