I agree.  Had flow set and saw zero forgiveness benefits over the blade.  I actually felt like the cb 4 and 5 spun too much making gaping bad.  Sold the cb and filled out the set with MBs gapping issue resolved.

king tour is the way to go if you want a combo set with the cb or mb.

I need all the spin I can get which is why the TP5 is my ball. It doesn't play as well in the wind as a Pro V1 but I get more spin. I like the ball (TP5) since I can manage the spin I get with it instead of not having spin. I also enjoy the softer feel, so I don't play the Pro V1x.

I'm seriously considering this set to be fair. I wanted to go ZXi7 but the topline is offputting for me.

It’s a good set. Might consider cb 6-pw and king tour 4-5.

Cobra cb/mb is not a forgiving club in long irons.  They are small

I'm going to give that a look for sure. I may try the CB/MB set and see how I get on with the 4 and 5 to see if I need to go King Tour. I've read lots of good things about these irons. They seem to be a sleeper set from what I hear.

They are and they are cheap.  I got like new set with tix100 for 650. Wrapper was still on a couple irons

The MBs come out pretty flat and low spin.  Had to go to prov1x to make them work.

I picked up a set of the Black King Tours and am floored at how long they are. Like easily a club longer than my Apex CB from last year. Wasn't really thinking they were going to be that hot and might need to rethink my gapping a bit!

I put together a 3-PW set of King Tours last fall.  Played a few rounds, but mostly simulator work over the winter.  I'm thoroughly impressed.  Was playing ZX7s prior to the King Tours. I bought those right after they were released.  I give the Srixon's the slight edge in feel (subjective, I know), but the Cobras are better performers for me.  Very consistent distances with each club.  Really, really pleased. I go back to my ZX7s every now and then it confirms moving to the King Tours was the right thing for me.

I’m VERY close to purchasing the flow set. I’ve played some good looking irons in the past and this has to be one of the best shaped irons at address. I just had a chance to see them and I’m taking two irons out to demo from the MB and CB right now.

On looks, wow. Supremely underrated.

I think you’ll end up with a set of Cobras after you demo.

I saw your iron thread. I’ve hit/played a bunch of the same irons that have been in your bag and I’m now in a full set of black King Tours (had a Tour/CB combo for 2023 and to start 2024 then went on the iron merry go round this winter). Feel is right up there with the best of them and looks are arguably the best imo. I hit the black MB in the shop and wow that’s a gorgeous and amazing feeling iron, but just slightly too demanding for my game.

I actually had a pre-order in for Zxi’s, but like you, I can’t quite get past that topline so I cancelled.

I put the ZXi down at address and while it was nice knowing the 5 and 7 looked the same, they were too large. I can't get over the squared-off top line. I hit both the CB and MB irons, and they felt great. I would say they're in between a Mizuno and Titleist forging. They remind me of the 620CB in terms of a slightly firmer feel than Mizuno but when it's in the middle, wow. Also, since the $ Taper was a suggested shaft during my session back in December, I can buy it as is. The CB launched higher than the TC-201 I was playing and honestly, that extra height will help me attack pins more. I've always had the mindset that a miss is a miss, it doesn't matter what iron you have. Time to get to work on the range.

I'm playing King Tours now and love them. If I had to pick I'd say its a little tough to isolate where I hit the ball but thats compared to very unforgiving heads.

I absolutely love mine.

Agree.  King tours offer some help, although not a lot.

the king mb/cb are rewarding but demanding.  No help on off days in my experience.  I’d say the where the mb stands out is it spins less than its peers in the mb class

Don’t rule out the Tour/CB combo bit of forgiveness in the short irons and still feel great. Then a touch more forgiveness with the Tour in the long irons.
True comment miss is a miss. No iron can fix a bad swing. Some just help with the not so great swings.
I think I am really going to enjoy my combo.

For sure! Time will tell. I’ll give this set a go and see how I get on with them before making an alteration. I really liked the feel of them. I can’t wait to get my set.

I have played the Cobra King CB since they were released and I actually find them to be reasonably forgiving for such a compact players CB and they are definitely more forgiving and longer than both the Titleist 620 CB and TaylorMade P7MC, I have recently hit the Cobra King Tour and was very impressed as they are even more forgiving than the CB and very easy to hit even in the 4 iron, neither set is demanding to hit in any way although I suppose it just depends on the level of your ball striking.

If you need all the spin you can get id recommend switching to a chrome tour x ball. I get a lot more spin on that than I do with the tp5/prov1x. Verified it mutliple times on my uneekor eye mini. Its also a soft feeling ball.

this set of cobra irons are a huge sleeper and should be more popular. Lots of cheap sets available on eBay

I played the CB/MB combo from May 2023 until end of last year. They feel amazing off the face and are just as good as anything out currently. They do spin a touch more but thats not a bad thing for me personally

Obviously King Tour will be more forgiving than CB/MB but even then the King Tour are still a smaller head shape for long irons

I love my Mizuno Pro 243 but im strongly considering getting a used set of King Tour's as a 2nd set

I have MB GW and PW as well as CB GW/PW (which I game) The MB's felt quite forgiving for a blade (they are slightly larger than other OEM blades) but I decided to stick with the CB's because I didn't notice much of a feel difference and while I didn't notice a performance difference the CB's theoretically should be slightly more forgiving.

I do t find this to be true. The cobra mbs are some of the smallest blades from major oem. The tm ones Rory play are a touch smaller

The sole on the king tour looks wider and has less bounce with a sharper leading edge ,  the older model has more bounce and plays a little narrower although I would call it narrow.

I dont understand where people think they are "hot" coming from. There is no springy material.

Seeing them against all their competition at something like Cool Clubs or ex-TXG, they are right in the middle of the ballpark with comparable irons.
