Very nice! As a fellow lefty I wish I had ordered this finish, I went chrome. I will say I’ve been through a revolving door of iron sets and these tours are absolutely fantastic. Hope you enjoy your set!

I was going to go with chrome but got convinced to go black which i don't regret so far. Plus I got a discount so the price was dumb not to get these.

So will see how they perform.

I am having one issue with these irons, which is I think I made a mistake getting the stock shaft even though I got it soft step one time. I traditionally like 115 g at a shaft somewhere in between a regular and a stiff, which is why the project LZ 5.5 or the modus tour 120 we're good shafts  for me.

I think I overestimated my abilities to hit the shaft. My swing speed with a seven iron is between 80 and 85 miles an hour and driver swing speed is between 100-103.

I think the weight and the stiffness are just slightly too much. As such, I am not performing as well on course as I do hitting them into a simulator or on the range when I'm grooved debating whether it's worth trading these in and taking a big hit or buying shafts and re-shafting, which will also be quite expensive.

I’m low 80s with 7i too. I bet you can make the 115g soft stepped work.

do what you can to make the clubs work. These clubs have poor resale so screwing around with them in the aftermarket will be frustrating.

are your joints healthy?

Is there that much more forgiveness with the tour vs the cb? I found them them both fairly easy to hit

I thought the CB were forgiving bc I compared them to the MB which I’m not good enough to play. Then I played the tours which make it clear I’m not good enough to play the CBs.

im not sure what flaws the tours might have. They are forgiving, but consistent enough they’re played on tour. Maybe they’re a bit big for blade players. But tour proven and forgiving is a great combo.

Has me thinking to try the Srixon ZXi7 ZXi5 combo. I hit the CB great I just tend to tinker

I purchased the King Tour black irons a while back and played them for about 3 rounds. Here are my thoughts.

The good - the black finish is awesome, especially paired with black shafts, the heads are a little smaller than I expected, fairly forgiving for their size, well struck shots feel very soft, offer some workability, yardage on par with my T150s.

The not so good - soles are a little wider than expected, I wish the cavity badges were satin and not shiny.

While I was impressed with these irons, they’ve been on the sideline for a while - they just couldn’t beat out my T150s, so the BST they go.

They are the $taper 120 stiff ssx1.

I’d second this. So incredibly soft. Really loved the look at address. I really liked the long irons. If I did it again I think it would have been KT 4 iron, 5-6 CB, and 7-Pw MB. The soles are way too wide on the short irons for me.

I play the 4,5,6 CB and 7-Gw Mb. I never hit the KTs but the 4Cb is very forgiving and a great feel. Real Interested in the new Mbs.

I keep getting the urge to tinker. I have been wanting the ZXi. Then I go play with my King Tour/CB combo. These irons continue to impress me. Truly great clubs and super underrated.
I also think I want to play more King Tours in my combo.  But the CB is forgiving enough. Bag is set for the season maybe more

My back is starting to feel better and getting more time with these irons. The long irons have some speed to them, got my 6i up to just under 145mph ball speed on a few swings.

Still need to do a gapping session with these, maybe this week if I have time.

I mean even if it’s 140 ballspeed and on target that’s massive.  Gotta be a 205-210 6 iron?

225-ish carry. Spin was a bit low cause inside so probably like a 220 carry off grass with proper spin.
