Iomic 3.5 Sticky (OVER) grips

For all us Iomic lovers out there Iomic has come through with a new size grip. It’s the 3.5 sticky also called the OVER Grip. It fits right between the 2.3 and midsize (4.4) and also has a reduced taper. It feels like a slightly smaller Golf pride plus 5 midsize which is perfect for me as I’m right between those sizes with golf pride. 
So as soon as I saw these on their USA website I messaged Chi at Iomic to confirm these were a reduced taper. I ordered a set and re-gripped my set last week. They definitely are reducing taper but not quite as much as the Plus 4s. More like a plus 2 but that’s fine. Installed with 2 extra wraps under the lower hand and they are absolutely perfect! I love these grips and will be stocking up! Just another AWESOME product from Iomic and a shout out to Chi for the BEST customer service!!!

Thanks for the info. I was curious about these when first announced. I just ordered some for one of my sets to try out. I've been using Iomic for a very very long time. They're just great grips in all weather conditions for a gloveless golfer like myself and last forever.

They are fantastic grips! Funny you mentioned gloveless golfer! I actually decided to go without a glove on the back nine today and they feel even better! I’ve been playing iomic grips for almost 15 years and never thought to go without a glove. I think I will keep a glove on hand incase it is raining or I get real sweaty. But I’ve actually played the sticky grips in the past in pouring rain and actually still felt like I had a good grip on the club. Going gloveless for 2023!

We both started playing them about the same time. They are great in wet or humid conditions here in Texas. The only trouble I've ever had is when it's a total unexpected downpour and I'm not prepared for it with the proper rain gear, but those are few and far between. I find, as long as you take care of these grips they'll stay tacky and last forever. Get a bottle of Dry Hands gripping solution to couple with the Iomics on rainy or humid days and you'll never have to buy a glove again.

After seeing this post, I immediately ordered these for the top of my bag. Have been using MCC+4s across my fairways and hybrid because I like something marginally beefer there, but have moved to Sticky 2.3s through the rest of my bag. I think these are going to be fantastic.

I bet you will like them! They will be thicker than the MCC plus 4 but not as thick as the midsize MCC plus 4.

Glad to hear.  I had my set of irons regripped with the OG sticky 2.3 with one extra wrap.  I normally play the Z-grips but decided to go back to the stickies this time because they ended up being cheaper when then Black Friday sale was going on last year.  These and NO1 grips are the best ever IMO!!!

They are smaller than the sticky midsize. They fit right between the 2.3cm and the 4.4cm midsize grips ant 3.5cm and have a slightly reduced taper. I’d say equivalent to 2 extra wraps under the lower hand. And yes these feel like they have less taper than the mid 4.4s.

Curious how you compare the grip - particiularly in humid conditions - between the iomic sticky and the Z-grip (particiularly if the cord version). Thanks.

I just ordered a couple of putter grips from Iomic and needed to get to $55.00 to get free shipping. I stumbled across this grip and bought one to test. I play standard with two extra wraps and like the reduced taper so these should be perfect! GolfPride makes a ZGrip +2 which is a standard grip that falls between a standard grip and a +4 with a slightly thicker bottom half. Those are great as well but the top half could be a bit larger.

 

Hopeful that these Iomic 3.5 are exactly what I'm looking for.

Just installed a 3.5 on my diver and went to the range. I feel like It is bigger than the MCC +4 I normally use. Seemed like I was leaving everything a little right with the bigger grip. That’s the fall effect of bigger grips, right?

I tend to leave clubs with bigger grips out to the right.

Doesn't hurt to let them try. I've always had trouble blowing Iomics off in the past as they always want to bubble when I've done it.

Great grip, just a touch too big for me. I’ll be going 2.3. I am moving to ATL and need to have these for that humidity.

They work great in the Houston humidity, and I don't wear a glove. Just clean them occasionally with water and they stay tacky and last forever. When it pours or the sweat gets too out of control, I just hit my hands with a dime size of dry hands, and it works like a charm. Safe travels to the ATL.

Right on. I sweat really bad even here in AZ, so I need all the help I can get in GA. I’ll be getting this stuff for sure.

Anymore opinions on these? You guys still loving them? I feel like the midsize are a little to big so these should be perfect.

The Iomic's do not have the same torsional resistance as the Z-grip does. The Z-grip is also firmer.

The 3.5 are different than the 2.3 in this regard. I could tell immediately upon first swing based on playing the 2.3 for a very long time. The 3.5 has a lower torque and firmer feel.
