Winn 2.0 Dri-Tac Grips? How are they holding up

BG5

Recommended Posts

I bought a used G400 max last year and It had a winn dri-tac grip on it and I just loved the feel of it.  I have heard reviews that the 2.0 version is supposed to hold up longer than the original version.  Is anyone using a winn 2.0 dri-tac?  I am thinking of changing my whole set to this grip.  Can I get two seasons out of them if I play about 50 rounds a year?  Maybe 3 years?  I am not super picky I just love the feel of the grip

I tried Winn probably 5 years ago, forget the model, but never fell in love with them.  Then I found the wrap version last year and loved the feel. Srixon didn't have the wraps, but had the 2.0s which is what I ordered on my set.  Only received the AW but love the grip.  I know I didn't remotely answer your question on durability 🙄

But the point is, if you like them play them and don't worry about it.  Grips are a consumable and cheap compared to changing clubs etc.

I’ve have the original dri-tac on my MP4s and now my ZX5 mark ii. They wear quickly in my opinion so once they wear out I replace with MCC+4s.

However if the 2.0s last noticeably longer I’d definitely replace with those.

Curious to see the responses…

Feel to me is the rubber a bit firmer, less squishy grip. A bit more durable, if I had to put a percentage on it, 50% more durable? My wear spot is always the heel pad of my top hand at the top of the grip, which is a me problem.

I play twice a week and might hit balls once a week, change grips on an as-needed basis, maybe twice a year, 3x on wedges and Driver/7w.

Bottom line, at $9ish per they’re a bargain compared to some of the $14 or so offerings out there, but I’ve also never been a cord/MCC guy, and I need a little cushion or I will eventually notice wrist/forearm/elbow pain. It’s a good grip for me.

I heard that alot of people dont wear gloves with the winn grips since they are so soft.  Maybe they were speaking of the earlier version that was much softer than the 2.0 version?

Anyhow does anyone not wear a glove with these?

I know this is an old thread, but I absolutely hate these 2.0's. Huge fan of the original dri-tac, but the 2.0 is just too rubbery and slick for me, huge disappointment comping from the OG's. The durability is for sure much better, but I'm about to rip these off and put the OGs back on.

I used 2.0's last year.  There felt great as I prefer a softer grip than firmer.  But my hands sweat, and I play a lot during the summer months and for me I found they became slick if my hands sweated, or it was humid out or if by chance I played in rainy weather.  For those reasons I moved on.  I currently tried Grip Master leather grips and I don't think I will be moving away from those.  One because they are sticky and work for my sweaty hands and are awesome in the rain.  And two I paid a good deal for em..lol

As far as durability goes on the 2.0's I found them to be good for 1 year, but my brother in-law has gone through a few on the clubs he uses the most.  Has already had to change his driver grip and that was back in late June.  So I would say if you play a good deal then they would last maybe 1 season.

I use the DriTac 2.0 Oversize on all my clubs.  Love the soft feel and the tackiness.  I can see them not lasting more than two years and perhaps I'll try something else, but they have to have that softness.
I had a Titlelist driver fitting early this week, and with a standard sized Golf Pride grip, and I felt really uncomfortable in my hands.

Just got a set and after 1 test not a fan. On in short irons but longer irons I struggled with grip, felt slippery.

How can you tell if they are worn out? Mine are on a supposedly "new" iron set I picked up. Even cheap karma grips feel way better to me.

Have another iron set with ionic grips that were worn when I got them and those are better that the "new" dritac 2.0

I am not entirely sure, on the originals it was easy to tell when they were worn down. Ive since moved back to the originals because I hated how the new ones felt.
