Anyone hit 1 and 3 series and know what the profile differences are? Trying to figure it out by reading descriptions on TSG

I'm guessing that 501/601 might be following T-1/Air profile which would be softer tip.

Would 503/603 be like T-3, which apparently has stiffer mid section but I can't tell what the tip is like. TSG listing says that tip is smoothed out which could be interpreted both ways I guess lol.

 

I guess I'm more interested in 503/603 anyways. So if you hit it or know what other shafts are similar, please post!!

If you;re looking to try a new shaft, take a loo at Arch-Kams.  Very under the radar but very good shaft.  I have the 16509 now in my Ginnico Black and just got the CA-01 for the Wacwac-7 which I'll be testing soon.

So how did testing go? Did you end up keeping one of them?

Which flex do you play and what's your SS?

 Very good.  I've changed most of my wood shafts to Arch-Kam shafts.  I have the 16509 in 25 in my Ginico black star, I tried the WD-01 which is the butt firmest and lowest launching shaft in 25 and have the CA-01 in 25 which feels a tad softer to the 16506. I have the WL-01 26 in my 3W, WH-01 26 in my 5w and UTR F6 in my UT.

 

Really good shafts that have a very good smooth feel and for me they perform very well dispersion, launch and spin wise.

 

I still have Xanadus in the S-013 and WacwacLS-01 and have a Sanki awaiting my Paradigm.  Other than that, all are Arch-Kams.

 

My driver SS is range is 94 to 102.

Oh ok... good to know about WD-01. I actually like something with a soft butt stiff tip. If you had to guess, what's the profile for 16509 and CA-01?

I think CA-01 has a softer butt and slightly softer tip but softER relative to 16509 and NOT SOFT in an absolute sense.

Are you familiar with 167a? Found a new for pretty cheap but 25 flex. Their website still shows 164a, and it's high launching and neutral in "grab"... whatever it means haha.

Hoping this might be a light mid to low launch.

Sorry no.  this is the older discontinued series.  Flex 25 essentially means it cycles to 250 cpm.  Not sure what length, headweight, clamp length and whether grip on or off (I suspect the latter).

 

What shaft profile are you looking for and what's your on course avg driver swing speed.  I may be able to point you in the right direction with the current series.  I have the 16509, WD-01 and CA-01 for driver shafts.

SS is around 98 to 100. I like soft butt/stiff tip but I don't know if it's really the right profile for me. I've been going to a driving range with trackman range a lot this year and noticed my carry isn't that great. I still hit 250-260 but with 30yds of roll...

Today I took WD-01 in a Cleveland 588, and Crazy-8 in Crazy 435 and although I was getting more distance with Crazy, WD-01 just felt way better and was hitting more consistent. 🤷‍♂️

 

167a was cheap so we'll see how it fits me. It's weird though that I couldn't find anything on it, even on their facebook page.

ok!  Your SS is similar to mine.. Flex 25 or max flex26.  This is as prescribed by Arch-Kams.

 

So you have the WD-01.. that's a butt stiffer, high kick shaft.  If you need closer to a mid kick shaft, go for the 16509 or the CA-01.  The CA-01 does feel like it plays a tad softer than the 16509.  CA-01 feels better than the 16509 in my hands.  I'm getting very good results with the CA-01 in a TSR2.

 

For FW, the WH-01 is great.  Go for a Flex 26 in that.

Played in a league on Thursday and kept hitting over 260yds. With my longest drive being 278yds! Wish I knew what my SS was on that drive. Hard to tell if it's my swing or the shaft 😄

167 came in yesterday. I was surprised at the weight... 71g. The listing did not mention that. Now just need to decide what head to put it in.

If it doesnt work in the driver, try it in your FW?  I play the WH-01 in my FWs. Fantastic shaft.

yeah I think it’s going to be fine given it’s a 25 flex.
