Driver Head Weights Compatible with AutoFlex

I was at the range today hitting balls and a Mizuno Fitting Day was going on while I was there. I had no intention of getting fit into anything or buying any new clubs but I had gotten to talking with the fitter a bunch and he was a super nice guy and while we were talking a few kids came up to the tent wanting to hit some drivers. I'm talking like little kids, they were both 12 years old and because of their age and size the driver he put together for them to hit was a UST 40-R shaft that played at 3 wood length. After the two kids hit a few balls and went back to hitting their own clubs I jokingly asked the fitter to put that same driver shaft into a Lefty Mizuno ST-Z for me to hit. I was absolutely floored by the results. Firstly, just to provide some context, my club head speed with driver is about 115 mph so I have no problem hitting the ball far, I just wanted to hit this driver for fun because the shaft was a pool noodle and I thought it would be funny to see how hooky the ball would be. However, this was not the case. With this club I was swinging it close to 120 mph and my dispersion was shockingly good. I also loved how the shaft felt despite being a 40 gram regular flex. While I don't think that dispersion would hold up if I started gaming the driver, my experience today has me incredibly intrigued to finally try AutoFlex and see what it is all about. I am already aware of the shaft and everything about it I just need some advice from you guys on what heads and head weights work best with the shaft as well as if I need to play it at an absurdly long length to get similar results.

Does it have to be the Autoflex?  Why not try something that is comparable in bend profile and weight, but doesn't cost nearly as much?  Or best bet, try to get the same shaft that was working for you

As much as I would love to just get the same shaft I do not think a 40 Gram Regular flex shaft meant for junior golfers is going to provide the same consistency over a long period of time

You don't know until you try.  I don't think you would have usually tried a shaft like that in the first place,....but you did and were surprised

Ive been gaming the 505x since its release...

Since Ive owned it, Ive not gamed anything else, which is actually making the decision to spend the absurd amount of money on it actually a better decision in the long run, since Ive not spent any money on any other shaft since.

Ive gone through few heads with it and here is my feedback so far at 45.5" and 45" (2nd shaft)

PING G425 LST 9 = Too heavy for this shaft, especially at 45.5". It felt like it was overloading the shaft beyond what it liked.

CALLY EPIC SPEED LS/TD LS/TD 9 = Probably my favorite combo. Between 45" and 45.5" there was some gains with the Epic Speed LS but TD series were just too bit hard to control. Weight was bit too light at 45" so added some weights with screw.

CALLY ROGUE ST TD LS 9 = I thought maybe since EPIC was so good, Rogue might be an improvement, but the spin went up compared to the Epic Speed TD LS. Maybe slightly more stable, but I was just more optimal with Epic.

SIM2/STEALTH PLUS 9 = Launched a bit higher, but distance was good, very consistent, very stable. Shaft worked well at 45.5" but I found that 45" was just bit better in terms of shaft dynamics.

TITLEIST TSR3 9 = Current gamer. Works really well but I kinda wish I got the 8 degree, as it seems to launch a bit higher than Im used to. Im currently gaming it at 45.5" and its optimal for me. Coming from 450cc head, the 460cc of TSR3 does look more friendly at increased length.

Options.. Cuz I too am randomly interested in this project. However I cannot control anything over 45 so interested that OP was using a 3w shaft.

I'm a big fan of fubuki and can get the mv/v for a decent price.

I'm confused.  You haven't actually hit the AF, but you are already speculating it is going to be better than a shaft you have already hit and saw work with your own eyes?  To me, that would say buy the cheapo shaft and try it.  If it doesn't work, what's $100 + an adapter vs. $800 + an adapter.  The AF does not have a secret sauce nobody has cracked, they were just the first to really market it as a viable option for a lot of people, despite your speed.

Whats your swing weight with the Autoflex with the TSR3?

I just popped in a SF505xx into a TSR2 and I’m at like C7

I've been playing the AF SF505 since it came out, so basically for a while now. I know AF recommends plaing the Driver at D0 - D2 for the best results, But I play my Driver at 45.5" and E1 swingweight. Get the best results by far with that set up.
