New Ping G430 Irons, cheaper alternatives?

So before I go drop 1100 to 1300 on a new set of 430s is there anything else I should look at that would be similar? Anything else new I should look at before I decide?

 

Should I try to find a good price on some g425s g410s or g400s maybe? My concern here is I cant hit them, so I dont know if they as good for me as the 430s are, I don't know how well they will work and I have less selection to get exactly what I need. 

 

I will say the idea of going in and getting exactly what I want and a club fit exactly to me does sound somewhat appealing, so dropping the money in the new set of 430s isn't totally out of the question. 

I may be a bit partial, but I think the g25 and g30 irons were as good as any game improvement irons Ping ever made. Bedsides the loft change of the newer irons which and a little distance I don’t think they are as forgiving as the older models.

Played every G model since G25 except the straight up G model. If I had a Time Machine I’d still have the G25s, but this is WRX …

 

My plan is to stick with the JPX 923 HL irons. The more traditional lofts might be a touch shorter but will hopefully allow for more greens. I’d love to see a retro Ping Eye 2, think retro Camaro or Mustang. 
 

if I was looking at deals G425, Titleist T300, Jpx921 would be on the list.

I spent a lot of time in the last 2 or 3 weeks looking for new irons.  It came down to the Ping G430 or the Mizuno 923 Hot Metal HL.  I got similar distance and spin numbers with each.  I ended up going with the Mizunos because of the higher ball flight.  I've always been a low ball hitter and it was wonderful watching the high flight of the Mizunos. I was even getting decent angles of 45 degrees or more which has never been the case for me.  A set of 6 Mizunos was almost $200 cheaper than the Pings with graphite shafts.  Now I just have to be patient for 5 weeks or so while the Mizunos are being made.

I would like to find a place that has the 921 but I cant seem to find any hear me. 

 

The 2019 model t300s are on sale at Carls golfland near me 699 so Im going to give those a try.

 

Im going to give the HMs another chance because I do agree I dont completely understand why I didn't like that with all of the positive reviews they get. 

 

I also found what appears to be a decent set of the Rapture Js on Ebay for a I think a good price that I may give a shot. Worst case I could sell them for what I paid.....now Im starting to think like a WRXer right?

So I found what I thought was a good deal on some t300s from here. Upgraded graphite shafts half an inch short which should be perfect for me since I'm around 5'6". I didn't get a chance to hit them but for the price if I hate them I can get my money back and get the 430s, even though I really don't like the way the 430s look. I know that's a bit silly but it is what it is. 

 

So for now it looks like t300s and I really hope they work for me because I do really like them. 

 

The only issue is they're 5-pw set and I usually play a 4 iron. So I need to decide to spend some extra to get a 4 iron or give a hybrid a try, but hybrids never really agreed with me for some reason or a 7 wood.

I'd bite the bullet and play the G430's.

 

BUT my set when my game is suffering is a set of Honma TW-X w/MMT85

 

Long heel to toe, not much offset, wider sole, Lower lofted, forgiving

 

My mains set is an i230
