Has anyone tried the new 3-piece budget ball Maxfli Trifli???

I have ordered two dozen, but I'd like to hear what people thought. What do you get for $29.99? I do like a soft ball even though I should play something firmer. I have a simulator, and 2-piece balls get destroyed in there. 3-piece balls hold up 3x as long. My SS on driver is about 100mph.

Search on trifli. There's some feedback here. I think they are ok. 2 fers at Dicks are good.

I ended up purchasing two dozen of these balls. On my launch monitor they are far. That said, they are significantly lower spin than any high compression ball like the Vice Pro or Pro v1. In fact, they may even spin lower than the Callaway Supersoft that I traditionally use. That said, I think they will last much longer in my simulator with the three layers, and not crack as fast . They have an amazingly soft feel.

Haven't tried them but honestly I think 3 piece surlyn balls are pretty much a waste.  If you aren't getting enough desired performance out of a 2 piece surlyn ball, the next logical jump should be a multilayer urethane ball and with DTC brands (Vice, OnCore, Snell), Maxfli (GG/Dicks house brand) and the Kirkland KSigs there are budget options that aren't as drastic a departure from cheaper 2 piece balls if you still have rounds where you lose a couple.   You can even look at the beginning of the season for closeouts on prior generation models.  Right now at Dicks and Golf Galaxy they have 24 packs of the prior generation Srixon ZStar and ZStar XV for $65.  That's $2.70 per ball compared to $2.08 per Supersoft.  I personally think those balls are worth more than 62 cents per ball from the Supersoft but YMMV.

I played it today (late to the post I know), and I felt like it was slow off the driver but long off irons and springy off putter. My 2 cents.

I bought 2 dozen last fall to try out. Nothing stood out for me. Maybe a slight distance increase with the driver. Less stopping power on the greens compared to Maxfli Softfli or Callaway Supersoft that I play at certain times of the year.

 

I gave a few sleeves to a guy I play with. He plays the Maxfli Straightfli. He said he didn't notice any differences but preferred the Straightfli.

I just purchased a dozen Snell golf balls for $19.99. Real urethane cover. I'll report back. The Maxfli's hold up well in my golf simulator, however, compared to 2-piece balls.

They are okay, I play the matte green ones from time to time but they scuff easy and I lose distance on the tee.

I had two boxes of the TriFli gifted to me from a buddy. Tried them out yesterday. I felt like I lost distance off the tee. Felt like smacking a marshmallow to me with my driver and fairway woods (105 SS). The dimple pattern definitely looked like it was working as fades and draws seemed to straighten out more than usual. 

Full iron shots felt okay but the spin was definitely lower. Was relying mostly on descent angle to stop the ball. 
around the green they pop off the face well enough. And off the putter they felt a bit clicky but decent enough. 
For the price, if you have a slower swing speed, I think the main draw would be the flight correction, which seems to work a helpful amount. The matte green is a pretty good color too.

Is surlyn balls even a thing anymore? I mean Really who the heck would want to play them when price wise there's Urethane around the same

For me it’s not really needing a Tour level ball. Most of the courses I play have responsive enough greens, but they are usually small. Around the greens it seems like the 3 piece surlyn checks up a little bit more, not as much as a Tour ball, but enough. Then on the greens it's been very helpful as well. The amount of times I've thought "you've got to to hit it Joe," only to watch it nuzzle up to tap in distance has been quite numerous. Plus, I really like the feel, it's soft but doesn't feel soft. 

 

If I were to liken it to clubs and make a very generalized comparison, it's like a PDI, a stepping stone. Plus I like being able to go to a local store and pick it up. 

 

I will concede your point about price point and there being urethane balls available. However, I would ask what you're giving up when getting those balls. I try to stock up when I get gift cards, plus rewards, plus a coupon. I will also admit that sometimes I do wonder if I'm paying more than I need to, could I get similar performance out of the Softfli or Straightfli? 

 

Overall, this ball works really well for me, and it's made me stick to one ball much more often.
