Would you play at this course?

I don’t mind the heat, don’t care about these guys not wearing shirts, but slides is just a bit too far for me especially when golf sandals are available through most golf retailers.

What course is that? Looks like it might be Butler Pitch & Putt. I personally would never play in slides, but that place is very casual and basically just a wedge and putter.

"They say a putt won't go in if it doesn't get to the hole. Putts don't go in once they are past the hole either.". (Ben Crenshaw)

He was hitting it so pure he had to apologize to the sweet spot.

I am not going to do it for a multitude of reasons but doesn't impact me personally what they do.

Not sure that it is a good look for the course though.

When I see this I think to myself, "Do these guys understand golf etiquette?  Am I going to experience a 5 hour round here because of it?  Are the greens going to be full of pitch marks because those playing don't know to or care to repair their pitch marks?"

Gotta give them credit for playing in that weather in the first place.  I can't handle playing in 30+ Celsius weather.

Not sure how I feel about this one... from a NY Times article about the heat wave in Texas - 2 guys playing in triple digits in Austin.  I'm all for casual attire on the course but this is pushing it.

Its not the attire that puts me off, but it cant be a very good course, the green is cut to fairway height

This won't make me clutch my pearls especially if a very laid back course like others are alluding to. I have bigger issues with people being idiots on the course, if you play at a good pace, fix your divots and pitch marks you can play in a Speedo for all I care.

Played a 4 ball tournament this past weekend at Horseshoe Bay, about an hour north of Austin.  It....was....hot....  1pm shotgun Friday and 9am shotgun Saturday and Sunday.   Friday around 4-5pm was brutal.

After three rounds, we were tied for first, were done around 1:30-1:45 pm.  They had us go into  a sudden death playoff right around 2pm, by then some morning clouds had cleared and the sun was beating down hard, it was up into the triple digits I'm sure.  We were still tied after 5 holes, and then the pro said we could just call it even and split 1st and 2nd place.  We all said fine and called it a day before we all passed out...... 😄

I don't care how people dress. So as long as the course is good I'll play it. I'm to focused on my own game to worry about dress codes.

I'd think to myself they're idiots. But that would be all, and mostly because I would be jealous playing in clothes and not getting rid of my farmers tan.

I recall a day so hot that while crossing a bridge over a pond I couldn't take it anymore so stripped down to my plaid boxers and dove in.  Played out the hole in the shorts and when I saw the cart girl she told me not to worry. Her dad advised her when she took the job that "What happens on the course, stays on the course."

I certainly wouldn't, but have no judgements - don't care what floats anyone else's boat.

Not saying this because of the clothes. I lived in Houston for a couple years. When you hit midsummer, it can get horrendous unless you get on at sunrise and finish by 10AMish. When it starts getting high-90s, with freaking 90% humidity, it isn't golf, it is just torture.

It appears one dude is putting while the other guy is picking up.  Fast and casual. I’m fine with it.
I wear a suit or blazer and tie every day. The most casual we get are long sleeves and tassel loafers (summer only on half day Fridays). Old school  stuff.

A noted strength coach wrote once in a book that when he takes on a student, he asks them if they floss every day.  Everyone's first thought of course, is, "what does flossing have to do with lifting weights?"

His response?  "If you can't be disciplined enough to do something every day that takes two minutes, how can I expect you to follow the program I give you?"

Kind of my thought process as well.

Played a highly regarded course outside of Detroit earlier this week.  Followed two groups of bros(could have been groups before them as well) and the unfixed ball marks and unraked bunkers were unreal.  Seems to be a greater correlation than people are willing to admit to.

Unfortunately I think the real answer is that too few people across the board rake well and fix ball markers. At this point I've heard "xyz group doesn't take care of the course" followed by anecdotes about said group not taking care of the course about every demographic that exists.

I think folks say they don't care because the one dude is ripped and the other dude looks to be at least gutless (hidden)..... Add 50-60lbs and a speedo as suggested previously and this thread would take a different tone.....

Admit it... if any of you saw some dude buff or not (or god forbid.... DUDES) playing golf in speedos, you'd laugh until your lungs popped.....🤣

30????? Don't come to Texas from about May through September.

For me, 30 is quite comfy.  38 and above are too hot.

Well yeah. If you find anything over 30 Celsius (86 F) uncomfortable then you will find a lot of places in Australia too hot in summer (say November to March).
