I have MMT 105s in 3-PW 620 MBs, and MMT 125TX 8 irons in SW & LW, trimmed to 35.5” length, same as PW length. Can't say how 8 or 9 shafts differ, as a feel player never did a comparison. Maybe I wasn't clear enough, never used 9i shafts in wedges, only 9i-36” length for PW, SW, LW. Those clubs, including 9i, are feel clubs for me, where swing length varies. I have 2 MMT 105s Scoring wedge shafts, think they are 113g each but pulled them, don't need extra spin or height. Went back to S200 shafts in wedges.

My current set of SM9 PW, SW, LW are 35.5”, with S200 and progressively heavier SW's.

Thanks for the info. I am playing older Srixon irons with Lz 6.0's and lasts summer I started down the path of graphite + ultra lightweight shaft weight. I went as far as building a demo Srixon Zx7 4i with MMT 85. I actually still have it in the bag as my 4i. I like it but it's too light. I hunched it was going to be too light but I purposely went to the extreme to learn and creep back toward (probably) ~105g. My miss with it when I get quick is left, and it just feels too loose for me. I am not saying anything negative about the MMT's and might end up with the 105's. Fast forward to April 2024 and I went back to the fitter and hit some ~105 steel shafts. He's a friend and handed me the LAG A series 105 and I was like wow. I was never curious about or asked for the LAG shaft. It felt different than the MMT. And that was where I left it. So lots of work left before making a final decision.

Howard's post is the reason I asked about the wedges. One of my concerns with lightweight shafts especially constant weight graphite is managing swing weight, flex and spin. I just sent an old Vokey 54* with a LAG L series 9i shaft to get built. I am very curious how it will feel and perform vs my SM9's with a mix of Lz 5.5's and S200's. I am torn at the moment what my wedge shaft will be and that decision gets a little harder if I move to constant weight graphite. Then you add in MMT's being more tip heavy then the LAG and there is yet another variable.

I wouldn't let CW derail you. I have a set of 2-W TENSEI™ AV White AM2 Iron shafts that are 2g variable, the rest of my sets are CW. Have a set of MMT 95s shafts too, which I actually like a bit better than 105s. Go figure, ten gram difference is all feeling. I may put the MMT 95 back in 2i and 4i, as they performed really well. For now, I am staying with PX 5.5 until Titleist makes the new T100 irons available; I want a set.

I don't build clubs but never had a swing weight problem with Steelfiber or MMT shafts. I play 2i & 4i at D1, 5-9i at D2+.

I also have a set of 620 CBs that came with LZ 6.0. Before my new T100s, I blended CBs in with MBs for fun. LZ 6.0s were pulled after 2 rds replaced by PX.
