TaylorMade Cheap Glue Heads Falling Off?

So I'm helping someone out by taking their clubs in for repair as I go by the golf store a lot. About a month ago the shaft on their P790 4 iron started sliding out of the hosel and eventually broke. It was sent back to TM under warranty and, low and behold, was returned with the wrong shaft and grip. So it had to be sent back again for repair, all on TM's dime. Unbelievable #1.

 

Now this week the shaft on their #9 iron is sliding out of the hosel. I take it back to the golf shop for them to fix (a highly reputable national chain btw), and they're like yeah, not surprised, TM is known to use cheap glue for their heads and they see them in their shop all the time. Unbelievable #2. 

 

Seriously, what is wrong with TM? They are known for making top qualify components, and yet they assemble them with crappy glue?

Failures like that are not something that is trending here.  If there were systemic issues, I suspect more people here would make it known.

I had a stealth 7 iron fly off. They sent me knew club stat. No other issues in the 1 1/2 years I have had them

I wouldn’t look too much into that. Most likely had a bad batch of epoxy, a lazy day and not mixing the epoxy properly, or other environmental external issue.
 

I wouldn’t pinpoint this one issue being company wide. They build quality products.

That's a probably a good take, but the fact they totally messed up repairing the first club that broke + what the repair guy said about excess volume of TM clubs he sees coming back made me think there's possibly something more to it

Yeah agreed with @Nessism and @Glock917. The improper repair definitely leaves a bad taste, but honestly I wouldn't trust the words of a random repair guy about the other stuff unless you happen to know he has tons of cred. If we assume a relatively consistent failure rate across the industry, the highest volume and biggest names will simply appear more. 10,000 units with a 1% failure rate will appear to fail twice as much as 5,000 units even though the rate is the same. So unless this guy is both accounting for that AND has inside knowledge on Taylormade's epoxy usage then he is mostly talking out of his a**, albeit probably unintentionally.

A third of the 7 Stealth irons I purchased in June 22 is about to come apart. I googled to see if its a common issue.

I’ve had 3 stealth irons’ club heads slide down from the shaft. First one was last year a month after I bought them. Had to have that fixed twice as it had a rattle after the first fix. Now my 7i and PW are both in need of repair. A little over a year since I bought the set. Repair guy told me he sees a ton of TM irons with this same issue. I asked him if it was cheap glue/epoxy and he told me that’s part of it. He also mentioned TM only has the shaft insert(?) 1” where every other major manufacturer goes 1 1/4”. Last set of TMs I’ll buy. I was 50/50 on them or Mizuno and went TM. I had 2 different sets of Callaways previous to this and it didn’t happen once playing those for years.

I bought Stealth irons in Sept 2022. In Portugal in May, the head of my 6 iron flew off on the range, and the head of my 5 iron flew off during the round, on the same day!! I took them to the Taylormade Performance centre in Quinta do Lago the same day and asked them to fix them, which they did. I picked them up the next day and all seemed well. Until I played at Woking last week when the 6 iron head came off AGAIN, AND the 7 iron head came off! I mean, seriously? Fortunately they are still under the 2 yr warranty but now I'm not sure if I want them repaired or if I just want my money back!

Purchased custom fit Qi10 irons with kbs max lite steel to replace 25 yr old+ irons.  Day 1 at the range in April 2025 3 heads fall off and day 2 an additional one.  All fell off at the hosel.

 

it seems like Taylor made is replacing them but apparently seem to be saying this is a “one off”.  Not only do I have the very old irons that were my beginner set but also new graphite shaft callaways hybrid & woods with no issues (I returned to playing golf last year).
 

 The 60 degree hi toe 4 new Taylor made is holding up well,  I think there was definitely an issue with the new qi10s.

I have had the same issue with 4 clubs of my sim2 max and before that the M4 were sliding off. 
 

I’ve gone back to my burner 2.0 which are fine. 
 

Really disappointed with TM
