Removing Driver weights

My kid has been using a Sim Max2 for a while and we just popped the new Stealth HD2 Ladies onto her shaft and seeing some visual gains - haven't tested on TM yet.

 

Question for my gear nerds though...it comes with a 32G weight in the back, and I was wondering what would happen if I swapped it out for an aftermarket lighter weight - they come as low as 6g? Im thinking more in terms of helping her swing faster with a lighter club head? but wondering if/how much that will affect launch/spin etc. Or if shes already poking it out there long and straight, dont mess with it?

 

Or even lowering weight on the heel weights as well....

 

anyone play around with these weights in their kids' clubs?

26g from the rear of the head is going to lower spin, launch angle, and forgiveness quite a bit.  Not sure if the weight savings in speed would be enough to justify the change.

First pieces of information we need: Age, Height, Weight, Current Estimated Driver Clubhead Speed.  Also, if you had any numbers from a launch monitor showing Clubhead Speed, Smash, Vertical Launch, Spin, Ball Speed, AoA and Dynamic Launch they would be helpful.   Bottom line is that if you are going to test then you probably need to measure as well.

 

Anecdotally, when my boy was 7YO, I put him in a Flynn Shaft and a Fly-Z+ head without the weights (just put a screw in the holes). We also tried various weights from a kit. All in all, a waste of time. Might have even screwed up his swing speed development as today he is just average.  Prior to the adult head, he was definitely one of the longer/longest off the tee. One of biggest regrets was not just getting a Flynn Driver or the next USKG TS-54 driver at the time and let him just have at it.
