I had an Anser 5 or maybe even 6?? I sold off and kinda regret now. Had a Dina Shore tournament decal on it. They look so brittle when you’re looking down at that long neck.

I might have to buy another, this one is 36” and has the original grip and I don’t think I can bring myself to ruin that..but a 34-35 with a corded pp58 or blackout would be awesome. I really like how it’s closer to center shaft than normal, and the club itself is huge, the cavity alone is as wide as my tm spider ghost

EZGOER, I prefer the 8802 putter. I played one all through the 70's and into the early 80's. Then tried some others but always went back to the 8802 or similar style.  I do have a raw Cleveland Designed by Ben Crenshaw head that I purchased from a WXR several years ago. He picked up a few of these heads when Cleveland Golf sold to Srixon and shut down. I had the head installed on an old stepped shaft and put a Cameron grip on it. It feels outstanding! The head is very similar to an original 8802.

I have one of those heads also, mounted to a '64 Headspeed shaft. It feels as good as my '64 8802.

This just showed up. Head cover didn’t come with it but was a cheap find and happened to be delivered at the same time.. and coincidentally fits this putter pretty darn well.

Over the years I have been lucky enough to find two vintage Ping Faux Fur putter head covers to cover my two Dale Heads.

Recently at a driving range going out of business sale I found a brand new one, still in the zip lock bag with PING literature. Pretty cool.

Here are a few more Pings. Not as vintage as the 60's Dale Heads, but are not recent models either.

The Redwood has a Star Shot finish and has a floating face and the Scottsdale re-issue is BeNi.

Love the set up at address of the Ti2 WRX.

The B60 was in my bag for close to 30 years. Didn't think it would ever leave but when I developed eyesight issues I switched it for a Zebra as the sight line was easier to see.

I bought the Pal to complete a Tom Watson tribute bag, only ever gamed it a couple of times. Picture is before arrival of the Pal.

My Anser4 is my favorite Putter for sentimental reasons only. Always wanted one as a junior and my parents got me one for my 21st way back in 1990. Never putted well with it so didn't game it for long but will never part with it.

I've been adding a few more Anser 5s to my collection lately. Now I have five: a 5+ becu, a 5KS becu, a 5 SS, a 5K SS, and a 5 black oxide.

Guys I was bad today…

I’ve been watching these get posted on eBay, sit for a month, get re posted for the same price, repeat, repeat. There’s been 2-3 at what I’d call a reasonable price and then another 3-4 that are 2-3x as much, but those are the only 5-7 total I’ve been able to find anywhere online since I started keeping an eye on them back in December.

Well, today I finally hit buy, figured you guys might enjoy. Will be sure to send more pics when received.

I also grabbed another O blade. One of the pat pending ones where the heel says o blade and toe says ping instead of the normal ping on the heel layout. 
 

I think it’s sweet, but in comparison didn’t seem as post worthy haha

That’s what made me want one too.

Growing up my dad had a full set of zings with the blonde woods and the fuzzy red headcovers, and I just thought they were the coolest. 
When I pieced together my first set I managed to find a blonde 5w, but couldn’t find any others so finished out the set with a black 3w and black eye 2 driver and 7w.

then like 4-5 months ago I saw one of these putters for the first time and was like ooo gotta have it one day lol

Love my blonde Zings, #1, #3, #5 and #7. Minty with same serial numbers. The driver with the red #1 according to Ping means it has a 13* loft.

That bag is just full of cool. Box groove copper eye 2’s, daleheads, blonde zings, and on top of it all some minty fuzzy blade covers.

Arrived today, Shaft band is pulling up a touch at one end but other than that pretty decent considering the age. I’m pretty sure I’ll never find an original headcover but oh well

My dad had me take his zings today when I was over my parent’s house. His has the black paint in the 1 so I think that means 12 degree but not 100% sure.

Can never get over how much I love the old fuzzy barrel headcovers either.

12* sounds right. I know the red #1 driver is 13.5*. Welcome to the Zing family.

Ohh I’ve had the zings for a while haha, the irons were my first set in highschool accompanied by non matching zing woods(one blonde one black) but I am very happy to now have a full matching set of the blonde woods! It’s funny how these things go full circle.

Had been working on a couple display shelves (for putters primarily) with some leftover materials I had around so did a little mock up.

I recently built this Scottsdale Anser.  I managed to find an OG head from 1966 (version 2 in the various different stampings) without a shaft; it looked unused so probably had never been shafted, and had been part of the collection of a late R&A member.  I bought a 1995 remake SA to donate the 9.5" first step shaft and then sourced a period correct GP palm grip.  Very happy with the results and it's as close to a NOS OG Anser as I will ever get.

I have used it for a couple of rounds this year and really like it; it puts a good roll on the ball and the grip feels great.  It will get the odd game here and there but realistically I have so many putters that it will never be first choice. I will probably end up selling it on to be honest, but enjoying it for now!

I have an old PING Anser putter.  I think it is circa 1967, but not sure.  Anyone know based on pics?  Doesn't have a shaft label or original grip, so cannot be sure.  Thanks!

I would agree with 1967 based on "Karsten Co", sloping bumpers and 85029 zip.

However, curious about the finish. Has this been coke dipped or something more aggressive?

Would like to have seen 1967 patina on it.

Sight line isn't original and hurts the value. Also prefer an old Anser with patina. Davis Love III used a Karsten Co. flat sole for most of his wins

Yes too bad about the sight lines that were cut in. You can make the putter look a lot better by using the boiled egg or mustard techniques to get rid of the orange look.

Interested to know if the first step is like 9.25" up. You can still find new Pro Only grips.
