Bryson is the only player I even remotely regretted going to liv.  Can't say I've missed him, but glad he's having some success playing exhibition golf.  Don't think two great rounds in liv merit a Ryder cup spot though.

I know people can hate on Bryson and I've always personally enjoyed his willingness to try things to see what works.  So I'm happy for him on an excellent round of golf and a W (coming from someone who doesn't enjoy LIV events or watch any of them).  I don't care if you play on a 5000 yard course, to shoot -12 is still wildly impressive.

Same here, he's the only one I wish was still playing on the PGAT.

He averaged below 60 for 2 days. That’s ridiculous!!!

How long was this course on the PGA tour schedule before LIV? Wasn’t this the Greenbrier Classic

You're half right.  I'd be stunned if Rory did it, much as I like him.  But trying to figure out what goes on in his head is harder than trying to follow the X-Files conspiracy from beginning to end.

Never said it wasn't a great round.  Just not surprising a player of that caliber did it on a course like that.  Yes 58 is different from 59.  But sub 60 rounds seem to happen with more frequency so there is likely to be more going forward.

Never said it wasn't a great round.  Just not surprising a player of that caliber did it on a course like that.  Yes 58 is different from 59.  But sub 60 rounds seem to happen with more frequency so there is likely to be more going forward.

 

Unfortunately, we'll never know. Both Rory and Rham skipped the annual Military Tribute at the Greenbrier. The tournament didn't fit their "schedule," and the PGAT axed the tournament after the 2019 event. Hopefully, Bryson's round will help shine a light on the fantastic community.

He looks great after the slimming down.  That oak tree look doesn't suit him.  183-190mph ball speeds seem to suit him well.  But get me that putter!!!!

Man he’s just taking a peak at the ball after contact, and knows it’s perfect.  Talk about being dialed in.

 

Iron swing looks good.  Hit some draws I noticed, which apparently was the only ask of the ping iron build.  “Just allow me to turn it over” or something similar.

If Bryson shot 58 with persimmon and balata then yeah, that’s something.  Playing preferred lies while using toasters on a stick and Pro V style balls isn’t that impressive

Lift and clean with modern equipment just isn’t that impressive.   If it were on an 8,800 yard course that actually fits modern equipment then yeah that’s something.  Otherwise roll equipment back in elite tournaments so a score actually means something again.

58 has been shot 4 times in competition ever, and never with another round as low as 61. Furyk's second lowest round to go with his 58 at the 2016 Travellers was 66. Ishikawa's second lowest round at the 2010 Crowns was 68. SH Kim's second lowest round at the 2021 Golf Partner Pro Am was 66.

 

Going 61-58 in competition has never been done before. If it was easy with modern equipment it would happen all the time.

It was great to watch, don’t think much else can be said about it as it could happen on PGA, Korn Ferry or some local qualifying event and people would be going crazy about it, but as it’s LIV it’s tarnished somehow. World of golf is nuts.
