Bryson - 58!

subrew

Recommended Posts

a former US Open champion and long drive finalist just followed up a 61 with a lift clean and place 58.   has to be about  the hottest golfer on the planet.

fyi, Lift clean and place was implemented at the beginning of the round as they feared bad weather and could not change it once it started.

The belittling agenda is still there,  if you heard one of the golf channel studio commentators dropping every talking point insult on LIV tour he could remember lol when discussing BD.

It was or it wasn't?  You can't both be right.

lcp was stated by the commentators  at the opening of the CW (delayed) telecast giving the reasons I stated..

Late in the round near a bunker in front of a green BD was denied a ruling saying he was not in the fairway and could not pick and lick.

It was lift clean and place?

But definitely no mulligans right?

🤣

I kiddin!! Very proud of BD. And good he lost all that weight too.

can't stand LIV but this was so impressive. bryson is such a character. looking forward to when the politics are over and he is back playing with the best players in the world. he deserves to be on the ryder cup. i know he burned a lot of bridges with the pga folks but it would be a mistake to leave him out.

You're right, he deserves to be there. Has played well in the majors and I heard somewhere that over the last 3 months or so, Bryson has the 3rd best SG Total in golf. He's really good and in form. That said, if he doesn't make the team, its probably because the 6 guys who get auto bids don't want him as a teammate.  Perhaps he's cleared things up w/ Brooks and will get his support, but it doesn't seem like the guy has many friends / advocates in golf.

When Scheffler is pounding the table for Burns, Spieth for JT, and everybody for Rickie and Homa, things tend to fill up quickly. Again, he should be there, but I wont be surprised if he isn't.

They way I see it is if JT makes it then DJ should make it from prior results not current form.  But if jt and dj don’t make it then Bryson has to make it off current form.

JT would need to have won Wyndham and then shown a run of good form through Eastlake to even be considered IMO.  He played well this last week but he's been dreadful at times this year.  He's still young and he'll get it back, but focus on next year's PC and RC in 2025.

Agree. I thought JT needed to get into the playoffs and fight his way to Eastlake to deserve it. He'll have some supporters but I don't think he should get the call.

Current top 6 - Scheffler, Clark, Harman, Koepka, Xander, Cantlay

Next 6 - Homa, Young, Spieth, Bradley, Morikawa, Burns

Just outside - Rickie, JT, McCarthy

I'd take Rickie over Burns right now as Rickie's been a top 20 machine while Burns runs hot and cold. I'd take Bryson over Bradley and pair him w/ Harman. I think Bryson's driving w/ Harman's putting would be a pretty fun team.

I haven't watched it past the first hole, but Bryson and Phil do a 2v2 better ball over 9 holes at Greenbrier.  With Anirban and Tringale as teammates.

It is Bryson being Bryson, and Phil being Phil, for all this is worth.  So if you dislike either, don't be surprised.  Might be a bit too much for me, but could be entertaining.  He mentions the Krank driver on the second tee box.

Decision on 8/28 - still 3 weeks to sort it out based on playoff performance. Bryson may have a shot depending on how #10-13 in the standings play and probably would depend on how the vice captains feel about him. Finau might make a run in the playoffs. As for DJ, I don't think he has a shot despite what he did at Whistling Straits.

Could get even more interesting if Xander, Cantlay & Max play well and Brooks falls to #7.

Good point. It's a tricky dance when you bring some subjective criteria into the mix. DJ + Morikawa has been a good pairing. Especially complicated as most of the PGAT guys like DJ and respect how he handled the transition.

Past performance would dictate that Sergio and Poulter would make the Euro squad.

It's probably not fair but man, this is one of the reasons I find Bryson annoying and a little sad. Do you want to be a youtuber or one of the best golfers on the planet? I get why Wesley Bryant flirts w/ Youtube and why Kyle Berkshire posts so much. They need to build a brand and find a revenue stream outside of professional golf. They aren't teeing it up for $25M a dozen times a year with a next worth around 1/4 billion.

And fine, perhaps your doing this to build your brand and in effect, the franchise value of the Crushers. Sure, I'll bite. At least have an original point of view. Take us behind the scenes of your training and practice. Show us how you attack a course. Behind the scenes at LIV or during a major. This 9 hole challenge crap is no different than the countless videos posted by Shiels, Fitch, Fryer, the Bryant Bros, Bob Does Sports, and the collective alumni from Good Good.

True but you don't have to squint to remember DJ as one of the best players in the world. He's been a bit rough this year but was dominating LIV last year. Been a bit since Sergio or Poulter showed any consistent form.

I was thinking if there was a gentleman’s agreement between zj and Donald saying they would not captain pick liv on America side since on European side they are ineligible

Could be thus excluding Bryson and even Brooks if he falls to 7th or lower

Neither can make the Euro team because they resigned from the DP World Tour, have to me a member to make the team. Koepka will make the US Team because he qualifies on points, the chances of any LIV player being a captain's pick is slim and none.

What says he can't be both?

I've watched a few of his YouTube videos.  I find them at least as enjoyable as watching PGA or LIV tournaments.
