JaMarcus also couldn’t stay awake in meetings (when he was present) bcs he was abusing ‘Purple Drank’. Which for the uninitiated is lemon lime soda mixed with codeine syrup! Also most believe he was the catalyst for the current rookie salary cap.

Totally agree. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised when his dad said it was the school’s responsibility to raise him into a man, but it still caught me off guard when he actually said it…on camera.

I get it, but the Browns are the bottom of the QB dumpster heap IMO. And organizationally, it’s not really close.

 I was talking one day with (now ex) Giants pitcher Jeremy Affeldt about players getting drafted fairly low outta HS vs going to a D1 and trying to get drafted higher. The talk came to the minor leagues and riding around on those buses. He said it was an absolutely awful experience. Not to mention 90% of the prospects were non English speaking and he couldn’t even have conversations. 
 

*edit by saying a lot of it comes down to when ur drafted. If ur #1 overall in the NFL, I’d say no brainer. 6th round pick in NFL vs top 10 in baseball. Prob baseball. A lot of factors. What position. Pitchers have a far better chance of making it over position players etc

 

** another fun fact to consider when choosing. 
Average minor league baseball player makes ~$60k a year. (You play for the single A SJ Giants. You can’t come close to even affording an apartment and live with families that “house players”)

Starting salary for a practice squad NFL player is over $200k

I kinda liked Cutler and Orton. The Redskins were blessed with Grossman, and Shane Matthews under Steve Spurrier who ended the career of any QB that played under him with his stupid play calling, Patrick Ramsey just got the snot kicked out of him with no blocking. We also drafted Jason Campbell under Joe Gibbs pt.2  The Redskins have has some real bad QB play over the years even though it might not be as extreme as Cleveland and Chicago.  Danny Wuerffel played for us LOL

Please tell Annie I am actually rooting for Mayfield...and I have no real reason.  But I think Tampa might be playing for the number one draft pick this year.
