Why did you pick Florida State in tonight's game LP?

 

The Seminoles are No.8 in the rankings. 😉

 

Also the game is in Tallahassee so that means we will be seeing some hotties in the stands. That always adds some luck to my prediction.  😄 

 

I'm looking forward to tonight's game.

... Quite a few college teams I just don't watch. Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Michigan are at the top of that list. But I am always interested in what LSU is doing and most years LSU/GA against UA are the most entertaining games of the year.

I will be watching.  The game is in Orlando, but still will attract the good looking ladies.  If FSU gives Jordan Travis time to throw, I think the Noles win, they don’t, they will be tiger food!

... I have only seen highlights of CW and he obviously looks great, but hard for me to have any kind of definitive opinion. I have watched every game Maye has played and I have never seen a young QB with a suspect Oline hit WR's dead in stride right in the middle of the chest with such regularity. As you can tell, the two attributes I value most from a QB is accuracy and pocket poise, as they are both absolute requirements for a NFL franchise QB. Watching Maye go from his 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd reads than take off running with his eyes still down field and delivering off balance and unusual arm angle throws reminds me of Mahomes. But it sounds like whichever teams end up 1 and 2 for the '24 draft will both be very happy and we haven't seen that in a very long time. 

... And the hope always is a decent team moves up in the draft. The chances a sh!t team like the Bears that don't need a QB is pretty rare. (I would make the argument the Bears DID need a QB). But a trade for a proven veteran along with a plethora of picks and future picks for the 1st or 2nd picks would be nice for both these kids. Then again, a brilliant GM will fix the Oline first and build the rest of the team around a young franchise QB. A HC can't always afford to wait to build the rest if the team but a GM can. As we all know, QB is the one position you absolutely have to get right. Losing games is OK without quality WR's and/or defense, as long as you protect your franchise QB because with the right guy the wins will come.

Picks Contest 

 

We will be making 3 picks each week.

I will post the Vegas line every Monday morning and we will be using that line to make our picks.

You may pick a side or a total. For example if the line is Tampa -7 vs New Orleans and the total points are 54 you may take Tampa -7 or New Orleans +7 or you could pick Under 54 points in the game or Over 54 points. So every game has 4 different picks that you could select from. 

These are the Point Values. 

A correct pick is worth 5 points.

A tie or push is worth +2 points.

There are Zero points for a loss. 

 

Announcing the Power Play. 

You may make a Power Play ONCE EVERY 4 Weeks ONLY. 

Example: A participant sees a pick that he feels strongly about and decides to designate it his Power Play. 

If his Power Play hits he wins +20 points.

If his Power Play pushes/ties he wins +5 points.

Now if his Power Play loses he LOSES -10 points. 

Once again The Power Play can only be used by a participant once every 4 weeks. 

The Power Play is optional, you do not have to use a Power Play. 

 

3 Dark Horse picks 

Select 3 teams that you believe will exceed the total wins for the season using the Vegas line I provided.  

each correct guess wins 10 points

 

Super Bowl Future pick

Name the two teams that will appear in SB LVlll and give the total points scored in the game. If both teams make it and you are within 7 points with your total points guess you win a 25 point bonus.

Agree with a lot of your points, you should watch and then let me know what you think, I would be genuinely interested.  Some stats CW 73% completion 9 TD and 0 INT in his first 2 games.  For his career he is 66.4% completions (increasing each season) 72 TD and 9 INT.

My last "can't miss" college QB that was a big miss is Blaine Gabbert that had a good line in college but played behind terrible protection in the NFL and never looked the same. I have been more tempered in my "can't miss" evaluations ever since then. I don't know why USC games are tough to find on TV here, unless they have an ASU bias. 🤪 But I put USC on season record.

Maybe USC is only on the Pac12 network, since it is the last year and trying to get whatever ratings they can! 😂 

 

My only concern about CW is playing in Lincoln Riley’s offense, I just think it isn’t an NFL offense, kinda like Florida during Spurrier and Urban Meyer’s time.  I think Jalen Hurts will be the outlier, cause he spent the 3 seasons at Bama.

 

Lack of protection in the NFL will lead to little success.  Example David Carr, probably more talented than his brother Derek, but playing behind that OL for a few years, he’s lucky to be walking and breathing.

On the other hand if the Seahawks beat the spread there's 15 quick points. Yes, it's all my eggs in one basket, but those could be golden eggs. An all or nothing prospect.  Throw in the Power Play and I've got a tidy 35 points.

First let me thank you DMM for pointing out my error with the line in the Seatle/LA Ram game. I did indeed have the line backwards. It is Seattle -5 1/2 not the Rams as the favorite. I have adjusted it. I count on the group to point out my mistakes all season long. Already I have made one and already I have had a sharp participant point it out, so thanks Bellingham.

Second you can't make a triple play or use the same pick X's three. You will have to make 3 separate picks.
