Not being in the contest isn't important regarding @TiScape nsx. We all appreciate that the guy loves pro football, can intelligently discuss all things NFL, and watches many of the games and comments along with us. Making picks and meeting deadlines is not convenient for the Californian and I understand that. @TiScape was with us last year and I'm glad he is back again this season.

As for the PTTP picks I can go either way. I do like the idea though so in case of tie I will go with keep it and if enough don't like it then just make it optional.

As co-commish and stat keeper, I’m in agreement with NSX make it mandatory or drop. Here are my thoughts, I think going forward it will be easy just to incorporate when making your normal picks for the week, which helps making the pick submission deadline. This was tough to get going essentially on game day, especially being a Thursday and people having normal work and other commitments.

... I will gladly take Jimmy G over Cousins. I watched Jimmy in high school and some in college and have no doubt he can win a SB. The difference is he can't win it on his own if needed. Like you said, there are only a few Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes and Burrows that have the ball with 2 minutes left when everyone knows you will be passing and still drive down and score making great reads and killer accurate throws.

... The QB's in that not elite but very good category are really tough on fans. You can't replace them with inferior talent but you can't go all the way with them either. That said, Cousins has above average talent and you just have to look at last years stats to see that, but he is an emotional disaster. Repeating myself 😉 if you hooked up a heart monitor to both guys Jimmy G's would be pretty constant going through his progressions and Cousins would jump exponentially from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. And when he throws a pick he might even break the monitor. He is one of the few top 15 QB's I would replace with someone that may or may not be better, but at least a leader I could depend on emotionally.

Drop it...I only played to accumulate the bonus points as I didn't want others to get freebies if I didn't make the effort. Nothing in this thread/contest should ever be seen as "mandatory" as it's all for fun with no cash payouts.

... Since you axed, it kinds feels like jr high poker to me. "kings, one eyed jacks and 7's are all wild cards!" Not a big fan of the PP but at least you lose points if you want to participate and of course optional so OK by me. Not a fan of the Prime Time games as I really don't like picking games I have no interest in so drop it entirely. Again, Yo axed so just sharing my opinion.

Thank you all for your answers. I announced the Prime Time Play yesterday at 9 AM. There are participants in the contest that even this afternoon still have no idea what the PTTP is, and that's with Big Fish making picks for them in last nights game. 🤪

My head is spinning I am not able to check in on the thread when I am at work, and of course, I have to sleep and eat, converse with my fiance, pay bills, and things of that nature, which should not be confused with taking a nature break more and more often as I get older and the bladder gets weaker.

I managed to partake in the new contest that would include prime-time picks

When we first started picking games years ago it was just basically your 3 best games of the week and then we started adding to that

Thus it became less about the art of handicapping and picking against the spreads and more about point bonuses, and things like that. No problem it makes things a little more interesting. But now I need to remember how to post my score, when I can make the power pick, and when to post my picks, not once but twice a week. I will look ahead and think that during the busy holiday season, there are going to be people who are busy with families, work, and the like. I realize that this is a group that loves football and the camaraderie of like-minded individuals when it comes to sharing football-related banter. That is what it should be.

As far as the prime-time picks I have no problem with that but let it be optional

If you pick that week then you assume the risk of losing points or gaining points

If you do not pick you neither gain nor lose points as simple as that

You can have a vested interest in the prime-time games by assuming the risk or if you are to busy to research or listen to ESPN or NFL Network that week you can opt out. By no means do I support others making picks for me. What is the point?

I do not support that aspect of the new addition to the contest.

But just make it optional to keep a running tally of your scores like the regular contest and post them when the picks are due Tuesday.

I took on a new role at work which takes all my time anymore! I’m on the road more than ever now. Atlantic Beach, Pensacola Beach, Augusta, and soon to add St. Augustine. I check the thread frequently. DAMN!!! What have we created?? 😆😆

Finally got out for a much needed round yesterday at Lanier Islands Legacy Golf Club. We had our annual company golf outing. Unfortunately, it rained almost the entire round. We were absolutely soaked, but the booze made us not care much. 😆 A good time was had by many. We work hard and play harder. 🍻 Keep your eyes peeled for some beach and seafood pics in the near future!! You know it’s coming….

PTTP is a lot for this tiny mind. I did buy some kids some drinks on the strip. They were here for a bachelor party. They were just goofy weightlifter kids, dad says Thanks, that helped me a lot.
