Oh oh, I just came across a news item that the Bears signed/or are signing a veteran QB.  Is that bad news for Bagent, or would the veteran be the backup?

... They signed Trace McSorley. Depending on whether Fields goes on IR and signing Trace seems to indicate he will, Bagent will still be the starter. Whether or not Trace moves up to replace Peterson as the back up is the only question. But one of them will be on the practice squad and only eligible to play if the two starters get injured in a game. 

... The REAL question is will Fields resume his starting role when he is cleared to play. If the Bears were smart, and they have never showed signs that may be the case, they would put Fields on IR for the rest of the season. Then they might find a trade partner. It is pretty clear with only a partial game Bagent is better suited to the NFL than Fields and if he has any success at all they would lose the locker room if they benched Bagent. Receivers have already said Bagent shows complete confidence in his own ability and his receivers and you really want to go all out for a guy like that. No such comments have been made about Fields. Then Eberflus while not exactly blaming Fields for the sack and injury did say he needs to get rid of the ball "much faster" to prevent taking those kind of hits. Duh.

@touch... I looked back 4 pages to early Monday and there have been no standings posted.  Don't know if I'm in 6th place or next-to-last place.  I can't grab any semi bragging rights until I know where I stand.  Was my Safety Dance all for naught?

DMM, you might have missed my post on Monday or have forgotten about it. I stated that Stats Man Big Fish had another family emergency and had to travel to Florida again to assist in the matter. I posted that the new Standings for this week were going to be late. 

I would think @NJBigFish22 will have them up before too long. 

Until they are posted DMM relish in the fact that you are our Week 6 champ, and you have for a few weeks now escaped being my roommate in the basement. 😄

... Crazy night for sports. Jags and Saints, Diamondbacks and Phillies, Suns and Lakers. After playing golf and starting around 7pm it's gonna be the wee hours before I finish catching up. Gotta start with the Diamondbacks because ya never know when another channel will blurt out a score. "Phillies closing out the Diamondbacks" or "Diamondbacks making a comeback" when watching football or basketball and I really HATE  that.

It tells you how the networks want you to watch everything live. It's a conspiracy.  They know that when you record a program you fast forward through lucrative commercials. Even the Humana ones.

... Now I know you're joking because nobody fast forwards through those riveting, well acted commercials. I didn't work 18 hours straight for the money, it's about the art. 🤥 In fact I hear some actually fast forward through the shows just to GET to the Humana commercials! 🤷‍♂️

It’s almost impossible to watch a sporting event these days and not get some kind of spoiler. I like when I’m watching a replay of a game I missed on the NFLN and the banner on the bottom shows the final score! 🤪

My Picks for week 7 

 

 

The NY Giants Defense looked strong against Buffalo last week. They held the Bills to 14 points. Washington went down to Atlanta and won holding the the Falcons to just 16 points.

I see both of these defenses being the story in this one. I'll take the Under 41 

 

The Cardinals have been outscored by 50 points during their current three-game losing streak. DMM's Seahawks have been competitive all year and moved the ball well last week against Cincinnati in a losing effort. Welcome to the Home of the 12th man Redbirds. Seattle in a blow out.  Seattle -8 1/2  

 

Kirk Cousins is playing at home on Monday Night. He isn't built for such pressure in Prime Time I am sorry. The 49'rs are coming off a loss at the Dog Pound. Even if they don't have all their offensive weapons in the game the 49'rs will still cover the number against Kirk Cousins and his team's mediocre defense. I'll lay the TD with San Fran on the road.
