Any specs on DG AMT Tour White S200?

Hi folks - I'm usually reasonably adept at finding information on golf equipment on my own, but this shaft I can't find much on.

 

A Team Titleist fitter fit me into AMT Tour White S200 iron shafts yesterday.  I'm very familiar with the AMT concept, as I played AMT Black S300 a couple years back.

 

True Temper's website advertises three stiffness categories for their AMT Tour White shafts - X100, S300, and R300.  Nothing about S200.

 

The Titleist fitter said the S200 would be a little bit lighter than the S300 version. (I understand the S300 shows the same weight specs as the X100).

 

But I can't find any details on the AMT Tour White S200 anywhere.  I even emailed True Tempers customer service and their response was this:

 

"The weights are ascending. The shaft that would go in the PW is 130 grams, the next shaft is 127. As you move into a longer shaft the weight decreases by 3 grams on every shaft. The 41" which would go in a 2 iron is the lightest at 106 grams."

 

Well, that actually disagrees with that the Titleist fitter told me, because AMT Tour White S300 also goes 106g to 130g.

 

Does anyone know the real story here??

Not really sure what you mean. The TT AMT White S200 shafts will be slightly lighter than the S300 shafts by maybe 3 grams. The weight progression will still be 3 grams between shafts with the long irons being the lightest and the PW being the heaviest. To be honest most golfers will not see much of a difference between the AMT S300 and AMT S200 shaft.

This information from TT is correct.

The difference between any True Temper shafts in S200 and S300 is that they are the same shaft, sorted by weight, with the S200 being slightly lighter in weight, roughly 3 grams.

S200, S300, and S400 are all the same shafts, made on the same line. They have a manufacturing tolerance of ± a few grams. THey sort them out, and the ones that match the spec are the S300. The slightly heavier ones are S400, and the lighter ones are S200.

Thanks for the comments. The reason I thought there was disagreement between TT and the Titleist fitter was because he said S200 was lighter than S300. TT said the 2 iron was 106g in the S200. Per the TT website, that’s the same weight for the S300. 
 

I have understood that there existed the weight sorting difference between normal DG S200,300,400, I just didn’t know how many grams made up that tolerance.

Looks like 105G to 129G.

For decades it has seemed to me that anyone who feels they can tell a difference between and an S200 vs, S300 Dynamic Gold shaft in the same club was being "ridiculous". But it's something that lots of really good golfers have believed they could feel over the years. As they say, 99% of golf is mental and the rest is all in your head.

I can tell 3 grams, but 1 gram? Iirc that's the tolerance of Tour Issue +/- 0.5"
