Ok..who ordered a Krank Formula Fire Pro driver head? Let's hear it

Have anyone tried the stock shafts with this driver?

Fujikura Speeder X Tour, or the Light version

Or do you simply use other shafts you have tried and tested and then reshaft it into this sleeve?

I was testing with the standard shaft (which I ordered 44”). I subsequently decided to also try the TM Mini driver, so now I need to extend the driver shaft. I am going to test with a few other shafts to get it dialed in. The stock shaft was giving me good numbers. I will probably cut the grip add an extension and include it in my next round of testing. 

 

For fun, I actually purchased both the Formula fire Pro and the Formula fire X. I was originally thinking that I could shorten my shaft until I get to the 105mph head limit and use the second driver for tight courses. Still going to do testing over the next week or two. I will post the numbers when done. But I can tell you, I will be selling my Cobra drivers because one of the Krank drivers will be in the bag for 2024.

Same issue with mine, haven’t had it very long but I’m really struggling with the sound. Mine was delivered with the 1.5 gram weights, but sounds like I’ll need to find someone that can do hot melt to try and fix the noise.

I ordered one of these drivers at 46 inches with the LIGHT shaft option, wanted something to toy around with and try to squeeze out a bit more distance. Started to mess with speed training and all that fun, figured the Formula Fire Pro would be a fun head to play around with. 

 

Will report back once I get my hands on it and can really start to experiment with it.

Any updates on ball speed, launch, spin numbers? Was highly considering ordering one just want to make sure I get the right one! Seems like its worth the test for a high speed player!

Sure! I got it about 2 weekends ago. I played 2 rounds with it in the bag and about 4 range sessions with it. The driver is interesting to hit, I don't mind the sound (its a bit loud) but its def a long driver. I am not sure how I feel about the LIGHT shaft that it came with, so I might end up shaft swapping it to something I am more comfortable with.

Distance wise, I am getting a few more yards out of it compared to my Ping but that seems to be caused by the roll out I am getting with the Krank over the Ping. Forgiveness is great with the Krank, better than I thought it would be, but I still find the Ping to be better for my overly toed shots.  So far, I am enjoying the club a lot with the only real "negative" for me being that its pretty ugly to look at behind the ball.

Sweet! Thanks for the update! I ordered one last Friday after reading this post! It took me forever to figure out which one I wanted the Pro or the LD but for an extremely fast player on course (132-136CHS) I don't spin the ball that much so they recommended the Pro 9*. They said it should be here in 3 days... I talked to the owner on the phone and he gave me $200 off and gave me a left handed tip so I can drop it 2* they said they were way ahead of schedule so! I will be putting an extra gamer shaft in it and hopefully will be my gamer! I will try to do full review on it if I can!

Just got mine in and built it Played a round with it on Thursday so far so good. Even things that I felt were pretty severe mishits ended up going 270+ and pretty strait.  Sounds a bit funny more like a softball bat but the performance is fantastic! I will try and get out with a proper launch monitor this weekend or next weekend. I am in the kind of fast but defiantly not monster territory usually looking at 170-180 ball speed. Defiantly agree with above swings like a players ping425 good forgiveness but with much better launch window at least for me.

I just got mine about 2 weeks ago. Head starting rattling after about 3 rounds with it. Krank customer service is incredible but hard to get ahold of called like 5-6 times and emailed and eventually they got back to me. They sent me a brand new one after calling and telling them what happened! I can promise its not cause I was hitting it terrible. Really enjoy its performance as it went right in the bag over my TSR4 only thing is it does sound like a softball bat lol

Would you all recommend a 7.5 degree or 6? I’m around  128-130 swing speed and currently have a 7.5 TaylorMade M2 but my ball flight is still really high.

I mean without seeing you swing that would be tough to say... for what its worth it seems to be a pretty low spin head overall. What is your typical ball flight? Low/High? Fade/Draw? Slice/Hook? What is your miss? If you miss right then id say the 6* and loft it up if you miss left get 7.5 with callaway pro cog and you can lower it 2* and also open the face 3* hope this helps

Did you get the conforming formula fire or non-conforming? The regular formula fire sounds pretty normal.

Yes I am! Switching up shafts into some lighter stuff at the moment but yes the driver is still incredible!

Was swinging Ventus 7X which is a great shaft but realized that my body and swing doesnt go well with 75-80 gram shaft profiles and I used to drive the ball way better with 60 gram profiles. I got a Diamana PD 60 TX and working on getting a Diamana WB 63 TX to try! I am about 132-136 CHS on course! But my move/transition is quite smooth!

Can anyone speak to this or confirm this? I typically miss left and was debating giving it a try!

He said HIS driver was the most anti left driver due to some internal weighting and hotmelt, etc. The regular versions you can purchase play like any other regular drivers out there. 

 

Throw enough weight in the toe and any driver can be anti left.

03trdblack is correct. I will say this driver is very straight compared to the Qi LS I was previously gaming.

The head is pretty low spin overall I play everything at 9* including this. So take that into consideration. Also the head weight static is around 200+ grams. So it is quite heavy!

Well mines 9* the lowest I could get it was 7* with my Callaway Green dot adapter. Id never play it that low cause overall I am a low spin player for being 135 CHS.

Yea I called them but already knowing I was low spin. I decided 9* and I can lower it if I need. Just get the green dot adapter to lower it 2*
