Titleist Driving Iron - no more steel shafts? Options?

Hi all,

My best club in the bag is my TMB 716 2 iron with dynamic gold s300 shaft. Love it.

 

but now due to gapping at the top of the bag I want to buy a 3 iron driving iron and the T200 utility looks the most sensible replacement, but custom options no longer has steel shafts!? (I’m in the UK)

 

So which graphite shaft is going to give me the same performance as the S300?

I noticed that too when I was having a look! I didn't look at more than a couple of websites though but thought it was really odd.

As I did. notice the hosel diameter of the Utility irons at Titleist are .370 which is hybrid size at the Titleist Universe.
This heads are made for hybrid shafts and this is what you get when you buy it of the rack and also with the custom options. 

 

T200 was my favorite Utility club at a demo day. But it was the premium version with a GD Tour AD shaft and to pay 500+ for a club that I am rarely using is simply to much.

MMT 105 or 125S would be the closest equivalent to the S300, IMO.  KBS hybrid proto is also another good one that I have in my driving iron.  Ventus Blue HB is good too but expensive.

You can always shim a steel shaft

You can buy a .370 s300 shaft from golfworks if you really want the club to have the s300 in it.  The parallel tip will let you tip a little more or a little less to tweak the feel you're looking for.

On Titleist.com you can build with steel in either the t200 utility or U505...

I have the U505 4 iron and I’m a big fan. Mine is shafted with a Modus Tour 120. 
 

As the poster above said you should be able to shim it if you need too do so.

Yes sir. I had one of the KBS 120s in a Mizuno CLK hybrid at .370. It’s an excellent shaft
