You're gonna enjoy The Red Clay Strays, they played Edmonton a month ago, tickets were impossible to find. The Mounties leave responsibilities of border crossings to the CBSA.

they started their "climb" about 12 months ago, and i just started listening to them in january ... they're from mobile, so fellow alabamans ... looking forward to them, hunting whiskey up through ohio and michigan, and getting out of alabama in late july ... nothing but positives ...

Blink 182 and Alkaline Trio at Hollywood Palladium for the LA Fire disaster relief benefit.  Really cool to see Blink play a smaller venue (at a lower price) than the arenas that they have been playing around the country.

For a lifelong Blink and Trio fan, seeing Matt Skiba join Blink 182 on stage for Bored to Death was my live music equivalent of Rory finally winning the green jacket.

Got to see Bilal perform yesterday in a small setting. Was familiar with his music (soul sister, fast lane, they remenisce) but never really paid much attention. But was curious, and man does this man have a voice! They played all sorts of stuff from his ballads to a Roy Ayers tribute (we live in brooklyn) to p-funk, rock and even some far out distorted funk-rock. Great show!

This past weekend we went to see the Wood Brothers and St Paul and Broken Bones.  Good concert, I am not sure I would file them under the must see category but if you hear they're in town and you have the time it is a good use of the time.

Wood Brothers are awesome indeed.

Just watched a young Bruce Springsteen on PBS Passport . It’s about 90 minutes of his set at the No Nukes concert. This has got to be him and the E Street Band in their prime. I was 25 in 1979 when this was filmed, and it was nice to feel 25, if only for a short time.

this reminded me.

awesome video on the effects of music on patients with dementia/Alzheimer's.

whenever i listen to a song i haven't heard in a while or a live concert that i was at long time ago, it definitely brings me back to that moment, including the way i felt when i heard it first.

power of music'd

Tonight went to see Lake Street Dive.  Thought they were great.

Also stuck around for Jason Isbell who was also good.  His last few songs were rocking, which I really enjoy, but the show was good.

Too cold and wet to wait the 45 minutes for Hozier so we left.

Tomorrow?  Modest Mouse, Mt Joy, then Kasey Musgraves.  Hope it isn’t either so cold or I am dressed for winter not just late fall.

Saw The Killers BITD @ Shoreline in Mountain View. Guitarist was so wasted he was collapsing onto the stage a couple times per song. Two roadies would run out each time and get him back on his feet (for a bit haha). To his credit, he never stopped playing! 😂

No I have not

Ah - they played Summerfest this year, hence asking. It's Hoss and Sampson (my guitar players from Franks & Deans), the lovely and incredible Roxy Gunn from Crimson Riot and Vegas legend and good pal Alan Carter from many bands; mostly anymore from Mondo Vermin and Iron Vermin. (There's a reason for those names haha)

Really fun band!

lol, that's funny!🤣

He's one of the few artist/influencers that my boys introduced to me. Although I don't listen to him often, I would much rather them listen you him over what I came on listening to.

A little out of character in two respects when we went to see Deathcab for Cutie last night.  First off, its a school night and we don't love the work night concerts.  Second, because it was a school night we left a little early to get home.

They were significantly more rocking than the last time we saw them.  It started out with poor sound quality which was a bummer, but then it came back and I thought they were good.  In fact, the only comparison I could come up with was years and years ago I saw the Replacements in a basement and the sound was "muddy" which is fantastic for some music but not always great.  DFC's lead vocalist has a very distinct voice and sometimes it felt like the mud sound didn't always fit, but energetic, fun, and really good.

Oh man Pete! Kinda surprised ya didn’t @ me on this one. But ur a smart guy and figured I’d find it as I’ve got nothing better goin’ on! Haha

I use to really like these guys. Still fond of the older stuff. The stuff since the ‘Narrow Stairs’ album just doesn’t speak to me the same. It happens as bands “evolve”.

I absolutely knew you would find this.  Big concert week for the missus.  She got back from Vegas to see Beyonce, then this, and then this Friday off to see DMB in a rodeo ring.

I am excited to see Dave Mathews.  When we saw Foo Fighters there a couple of years ago it was incredible.  The place holds 7,000 people so it's easy to see the performers, the sound is good, and the surrounds are impressive.  My wife even expressed enthusiasm to see a jam band, my how much she has changed since that first Dead & Co show on the beach of Cancun those many moons ago.
