Lots of Mezz users on LIV too.  At a few US based events L.A.B. have had all their offerings out during practice rounds.

Some of my favorite players went to LIV, tried watching a bit today.  Cool to see the guys in shorts, don’t really get why shorts hasn’t been approved on the PGAT.  The music makes this whole thing borderline unwatchable.  But the amount of full golf shots and broadcasting is so, so much better than the PGAT.  Amazing the tour still can’t figure out the broadcast thing after 70 odd years of trying…

Every time I try to watch LIV, the broadcast spends so much time telling me how great LIV is. It’s really bush league and off putting, like the actual golf and the results is a secondary concern to promoting the league.

 

The Pat Perez interview that just aired is a prime example. Plus his Golf Saudi hat… oof.

Not sure I like the finals format:

Finals: Golfers will face each other in 18 holes Strokeplay event where overall score of the teams will be calculated as the accumulated score of all 4 golfers who are part of the team. The team with the lowest score will be declared winner. 

Semifinals just determines the flights for the final round. I was hoping for a match play final of some kind but this avoids trying to fit 2 matches into one TV time slot.

I'd like it better if they had match play vs each member of an opposing team, like they used to do in the final day of the international crown on lpga. If there's a tie there can be playoff. 

 

Like DJ can pick who he wants to vs, say Puig. Then Niemann picks who he wants to play but cant be a 4 aces player etc

He hit a famous shank in the 2011 Open final round when he had a chance to win against Darren Clarke. Killed his chances.

What I noticed on today's broadcast was that they showed the captains a lot but the other players only got air time when they made a putt that won a hole.

Heh, was watching Friday and Feherty was trying to create some drama, "It just got really quiet out here". And then his partner chimes in, "Well, except for the loud music". 🤣

Back to stroke play today with the four winning teams in the top tier playing for the team championship. All the other teams also playing but in lower tiers.

 

Bit contrived for me. Would have liked to see straight matchplay again.

I can’t get over the bunkers at Doral.  Just massive, funky shapes that guard the greens so closely.  Looks intimidating as hell.

They really need to get attendance up. Watched the Adelaide event and thought the crowds made the event really exciting. Reminded me of the WM open. This event in Miami just seems flat. As soon as the Ladies BMW open starts im changing channels.

I agree it’s a bit contrived but definitely gives them a way better chance for a dramatic finish.

Loving the final round. 
 

Bryson DeChambeau is the most dynamic player in the game. The old timers hate him, yet talk about him constantly, young fans eat up his social media content, and the middle of the pack fans appreciate his game. He’s not the best player in the world, but he’s possibly the only complete super star (game/marketability/controversy/global exposure/youth) in professional golf.

Great season for Bryson.  2 wins, 58, a T4 at the PGA, and to cap it off with the LIV team championship.  Lahiri with a strong 7 under too.
